Rats under my hood!!
My friend asked to look under the hood to check out the engine compartment.
He pops the hood and lifts it and I see a large rat jump down into the engine and see the ugly tail follow it. My friend slams my hood while trying to maintain composure. He said, "You didn't see the black one in the corner which looked like it was about to jump at me. He told me it was bigger than the one that squirred into the engine bay. I'm wondering what to do about this situation tomorrow. I'm afraid of opening the hood and having my fingers bit off. How would you guys handle this situation? Gary |

I thought about this, but I don't want the rats to die inside my car if it's living inside the firewall or in the fender somewhere.
Thought about that too but don't know anyone with a cat! I'm thinking about buying a rodent trap and taking it alive or just be a man and open the hood. The car has been sitting over a year without being driven.... Gary |

I would make sure they haven't eaten through any wires.

hire a guy to get rid of it...there are professionals out there.
Sure they may laugh at you for not being man enough to do the job, but at least they won't laugh in front of your face because you'll be paying them... |

rat poison....just throw some under the car and give it a day or two.....
next comes the hard part.....imagine your engine compartment, picture it in your head in as much detail as possible, when you're ready, pop open your hood, throw some jumper cables on as fast as you possibly can and run!!! |

get gloves, (rubber or garden ones)
bang on the hood to scare them... open it quickly and get your friend to put some jumpers...then try and run the engine... if they ate through wires, just hire someone... and your car unfortuanatley wont work D;

lol this is a mad thread. I would do the rat poison/traps under car, seems like a good idea. If you want something quicker though pop the hood and hose them out!
