There's gonna be a few fast cars going in and out of trailer parks when this thing gets released.

Isn't many 335 out there who do 9sec 1/4 currently? I know at least 3 on this forum, all with single turbos, but many more of them out there, like this one for example:
I bet a 6-pack that he will walk away from that Demon |

Naturally that's a very impressive 1/4 mile time for a factory stock, street legal car.
It is interesting to me that although the car has a 315mm square setup, many press photos show skinny tires on the front, like this one: I don't suppose it ships with the second set of front wheels/tires? Assuming not, presumably putting the heavier 315s on would slow it down a touch. |

But it comes with a set of small tires for up front and some "track kit" that has a whole bunch of drag strip stuff. If it comes with the 315s all around, its just Dodge's way of giving people 2 sets of drag radials. Besides, it would be stupid to take a RWD car to the strip with 315's all around. Every 10lbs of rotating mass is a tenth of a second. Now, lets see how much this Demon cost and how much the Dealers are going to mark it up. I'll say $30k is going to be the starting point for the mark ups. Price...I haven't a clue but maybe $100k? It is limited production of 3000 for the US. |

My initial point was more to acknowledge a fact that I'm sure many people will know Demon due to it's show off fancy naming and aggressive body style and looks, but very few know that a sleeper Germany luxury sedan can sent that Demon back to hell hole it came from lol |

Anyway, no doubt the Demon will still pummel essentially any factory stock car in the quarter mile even if you run it with the 315s in front, so it's hardly worth any temptation to hair split. I just noticed the discrepancy and figured I'd bring it up to see if I could get the skinny (pun intended) on that. So thanks for the info. |

Cars & Coffee gatherings with one of these around will surely require high chain-link fencing and SAFER barriers ...
Nuts. But props to Dodge. It had to do something to offset the demise of the Viper ...

The Challenger is a decade old and rides on an even older platform. It's mighty impressive what they were able to achieve with a car that's so dynamically mediocre to start with. This is the one and only time in history I'm complimenting Chrysler so props to the guys and gals who worked on this project.
Meanwhile, the Tesla fanboys on their forums are finding ways to rag on this. One guy even said "nobody but a skilled driver could achieve those numbers, whereas its so easy in the Model S even a grandma can do it." The clown doesn't realize that's the whole point of a performance car. The fun is in developing the skills to exploit their limits, not just mashing your foot down which a monkey could be trained to do. It's just more proof that Tesla fans aren't real car guys. |
