What the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects is the a-hole dealerships that want to deny your warranty claim for a heated seat not working while having a JB4 installed. Apples & Oranges. |

Burger or Dinan???
Okay, which is better (namely for use and reliability) for a plug-in tune device...Burger's JB4 or Dinan's Dinantronics?
I'd rather have a reliable process and a safe engine, than more power. Both have gains I'm happy with, just don't know the ills of either. Trolling the Internet for feedback is up and down. I know the Dinan is so much cheaper, but is that a problem? |

Yes, this is my modest concern here. I haven't put the JB4 on yet based on the risk/reward part. I may mess with it next month and just try the conservative maps.

If you're just running map 1 or 2 I don't think you have much to worry about. They're fairly conservative and have built in safties, but there's always a chance.

How crazy do the maps go? in theory how much hp/tq bump will you get from the second map?

It's funny you posted this yesterday. I picked up the M4 yesterday and traded in the G42. I decided I'll give then M4 a chance and if for some reason I'm unhappy with it, I'll order a G42 with the exact spec I want and sell the M4. The one I had I bought off a dealer lot and wasn't my exact desired build. I would also have to swap some M sport seats into it lol. WHY ISNT THIS AN OPTION IN THE US MARKET????
And for those that will read this and have a coronary about "nOt TrUe M KaR!", it's not that I think the G42 is a better car than the M4 outright, it's about performance per dollar and value. Yes the G82 is going to be a better car, but if the G42 is 85% of a G82 at 66% of the price.... Pic of the M4CX:

I agree with you on the percentage of performance. That is why I went with the M2 comp a year ago as my main aim. The M4/M3 has gotten pretty pricey. I had one in 09' or so and it was far cheaper with the E92 variety. I get that they have more technology but man the prices have shot thru the roof. That is a sick car tho

Nothing against the M4, for many its their perfect car, I feel most would not use the potential you are paying for on a daily basis. |
