Just close the dialogue box. It's a popup that is designed to look like a Windows dialogue box. A lot of people actually fall for the trick and click ok.
If you ever get any message boxes like that again that say "click here to download..." then it is definately just a popup. Dont worry. But I would recommend you regularly clean your computer of spyware. I tend to use Spybot: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Searc...g=pop.software

yea, i wouldnt worry about it. use either adaware or spybot, and couple that with a good anti-virus software, like avast (free) or ENOD32 (i think thats the one) but you have to pay. both are better than the current versions of norton and mcafee, which hog computer resources.
not sure if avast has released a vista-compatable version of their software tho... |

Okay, this can sometimes happen. I had popups that no spyware or adware remover could remove. If you go into your "control panel" you can add and remove programs. Look in there and you might see some programs you havent heard of before and could be the cause of the popups. Uninstall whatever program/s you might find. Let me know how you get on.

Try disabling the Messenger service if it is active. There used to be an exploit where a malicious software would use the local Messenger service to distribute pop-ups.

Try:
1. Running anti-virus program. I didn't read the original post properly, the message comes up even when you click on "My Documents"? 2. Enabling pop-up blocking (depends on browser capability, most should have that these days.) 3. Getting a Mac |

I hated that thing when I first discovered it. Easy to turn off though.

well, the other thing you can do is try to look for a good registry cleaner to get rid of whatever it is. most of the good ones you have to pay for, but you dont want to trust a crappy free one that can ruin ure system. the registry folder is not something to mess around with. other than that, im not too sure what to do with vista, i use XP still

Press the start button, click on "Run"
Type "msconfig" and press enter. Select the topmost or second to top buttons (I can't remember for sure, I am at work ). That will keep any non-essential programs from loading when you start your computer.
