So the bottom of the splitter is completely cut out, interesting. I think i'm gonna pass then because once you get up to speed, which is very easy with this car, I think there's going to be some really "interesting" consequences with the air flow. The last thing I want is to upset the balance of the car or hell, have a piece of plastic come off of the front bumper and go under the car, at speed.

This looks very similar to the splitters I installed on my G20. I can't speak to the M Performance front splitter for the G87, but for the G20 it was just a really expensive piece of very cheap & flexible abs plastic. It was no different than the $100 aftermarket "splitters". It was definitely for appearance purposes only and not performance. Probably why they're installed with just some double-sided tape and a couple screws into the plastic front fascia.

Whereas the front splitter on my Z06 that is intended for performance is attached to an inner fascia brace and made of carbon fiber.

Also, my quickjack 5000 is too short for the G87 lift points . So I'll have to find a friend who will let me borrow some ramps to install it.

Anyways, the splitter fitment looks pretty great. It seems to match the curves of the underside of the bumper pretty well, and it seems pretty flush with the ends of the bumper. The finish looks weird in the pics because I have not yet removed the plastic cover. The splitter material is plastic, but very sturdy.

Sorry for all the pics, I thought it woudl be helpful to anyone considering this brand of product. Once the splitter is installed, I'll make a new thread and post my detailed thoughts on these products.
Do you have any photos of the underside of the splitter? Can't seem to figure out the drilling points (and skirts if possible)

The splitter doesn’t have any markings for drill holes, it’s totally smooth. So you have to determine that yourself. I don’t have the side skirts so I don’t know about them, but would suspect it’s the same.

Where did you drill? I installed that exact same side skirt today and just drilled along spaced out equally. Used 6 screws each side and added 3M tape as well.

I did 3m + self tappers for skirts (5 per)

For lip I used the reference points and drilled 2 in the side vents (drill diagonally into vent) and 2 on the front side for 9 total

when you get a chance, would you mind getting a picture from the side/bottom please? im interested in how low it is especially compared to the vertical plastic thingy under the bumper. Or even better, the height of the splitter, i wrote to Maxton asking how thick (high) it is but no reply.

It's significantly lower. I have already scraped on pretty much every driveway so it is what it is (that's why I opted for plastic in the first place). Front is about 2+1/2-Ish in off the ground

Did you have to drill those screws in your bumper? Can you fix the fitment with 3M tape or something? I'm about to pull the trigger for the diffuser as well but I would like to know more. Can you also post a clear picture so we can see the fitment?

I just preordered the V2 front lip and side skirts. Should be available in April.

I just received the rear diffuser and I'm really disappointed with it. Poor fitment, poor mounting points, and lack of rear mounting points to secure the diffuser. Those long screws are just standoffs, they aren't meant to be secured in any way but rather just keep the bottom of the diffuser from flopping inward.

I realize you get what you pay for and I'm still extremely disappointed. But I've had cheap $100 ebay pieces on previous cars that weren't as bad as this.

I'm going to start a separate thread with pictures. After seeing this diffuser I won't be purchasing anything from Maxton in the future.

Lip is the V2 (same as V1 but without the winglets at the side: https://maxtondesignusa.net/collecti...-2-bmw-m2-g87)
Did you have to drill new holes to secure it? How is it holding up?

Anyone that has installed a maxton front splitter, including v2, do you need to drill new holes? Is it a necessity? Can you get by with store bought 3m mounting tape? Does the splitter already come with tape that is already laid out?

I honestly never installed it. I still have it siting in my garage. I’m waiting to see what AutoID’s new non-cf splitter looks like and costs before I decide. I believe AutoID mentioned theirs would be released in ~3 weeks.

And yes, for the Maxton splitter you have to drill holes to secure it, because double sided tape is NOT enough and it WILL rip off. The splitter does not come with the tape, but you can get the 3m tape fairly easily either online or in an auto parts store.

My maxton Side skirts shipped. Waiting on front lip to install together. Got some 3m tape and some self tappers. Have to admit, I’m a bit hesitant to put screws into the bottom of this car

I must admit about being on the fence with Maxton until today when attending a BMW event where a beautiful looking G87 M2 had the front gloss black lip and some other mods.My opinion if the fitment consideration was to use more of the factory points many others might jump on board. I am strongly considering!
