I'm actually very interested in this splitter that may also cover the oil cooler (starting around 5:54) to reduce the front lift (and thus offers protecting to it as a result)
It's still in development would love to see how it turns out. In the meanwhile I got Zunsport. |

Ordered the Mishimoto right before XMas on 12/21. Got the email that it shipped today. Can’t take the risk and it’s cheaper than
1. An insurance claim 2. A new oil cooler 3. A new engine 4. Piece of mind |

Mishi!
Easy install and gives me major piece of mind. Especially if I end up on a dirt road accidentally. |

I'm contemplating a purchase. What's holding me back is the markup for what you get, and the actual protection offered. I realize there has to be a balance between protection and cooling, but it seems like the protection you get will still allow small rocks to enter and damage the cooler. I'll probably end up with one in the end.

In the video they mentioned there's another version covering the oil cooler and directing the air flow towards the rear. But they need more testing for how it may affect oil temp

Car people follow trends just like everyone else. Doesn't mean it's not a valid issue, but it is also a fad.
Just like the TH4GC trend before that, and the cast-not-forged trend before that, and the made-in-mexico trend before that, and so on. |

Oh! And the shipping blocks drama! And the caliper clips thing!
And probably lots of other things I don't remember. |

After reading the posts on this risk I've decided to completely pull the motor out of the car and replace with a couple Tesla battery motors. This will 100% reduce the risk of the oil cooler being compromised. Sure, not very cost effective but will never have to worry about it

I am still trying to understand how big and how fast a rock have to bounce up to damage the cooler.
I could see that getting damaged if curb your front end while parking. Or a big piece of debris you drive over. But would small rocks actually do that? Seemingly it is also the ride height that affect your chance right? |

To be fair I ordered mine in November after seeing how vulnerable this part of the car was. I bought the Southeast Coating & Fab Oil cooler skid plate. For $350 you cant go wrong. DM me if you want me to connect you! |
