Well, its been fun, but out with the old in with the new...
Today traded in my 2023 M2 for a 2024 M8 Competition Coupe. (Pic attached.
M2 has 10,800 miles. Is in fine condition. Is absolutely fabulous to drive. Just decided on a change. M8 has a 4.4l V8, 617hp, 553 ft lbs of torque, 8-speed automatic, AWD, CF roof, black leather interior, 20" high performance tires. About the same height and width as the M2. But longer by about 9". Weighs: 4295lbs. Not sure if that is with the CF roof or the sun roof. Have put less than 50 miles on the M8 but so far I'm impressed as all get out. The car is awesome. Oh, the M8 at the time I took the pic has *not* been detailed yet. Dirty girl... But later it was delivered after a full detailing. The dirty girl cleaned up nice. Beautiful car, you’re going to love it.
Glad you finally pulled the trigger- I saw your posts on the M8 forum. I didn’t know what punched was either. Be sure to post some pics on the M8 forum too.. Enjoy |

godspeed rockcrusher. you will be happy with it.
i personally wouldnt trade the M2s edge for the M8s comfort and pace. but life is short and i am glad you made a choice that will make you happy. considering your ownership experience, i am curious your thoughts once you can give it a workout. |

This...the M8 Comp is a luxury car with power, the little sibling of the M5 Comp. The M2 is more of a sports car (not that it's not comfortable to drive but it's not luxury). |

I didn't lease but bought the car. I did finance $20,000 (at 3.99%) to qualify for a $9000 BMW credit rebate. I'll make a few payments then just pay off the loan. |

I actually built a 2025 M2 -- this the other day before buying the M8 -- just to have on file to order if the M8 proves to be disappointment. So far I don't think that's going to happen. But another M2 would be my fall back. |

No way the M8 diminishes the M2. Not even a bit. The M2 was a bit raw -- but still comfortable and with enough luxury to satisfy everyone except maybe Sultan Bolkiah of Brunei -- which is part of its attraction. I just loved driving mine. And of course I have posted a number of times regarding the number of compliments the M2 has received. Almost every time I took the car out I had someone pay the car a compliment. On the road I'd get a thumb's up, a wave/smile, or at a stop light spot someone in a nearby vehicle with a phone up taking a pic or a video, some positive reaction the car. The M8 will be a different experience which is an attraction, too. But I'm prepared for the very real possibility the M8 won't garner as many compliments as the M2. But that's ok. I can live with that. |

It’s a beaut. 2x the price, huge and luxurious. Not a car I would drive but a beast nonetheless. I prefer 3 pedals, smaller sportier cars and if I had to get an auto, would probably be a G80 XDrive relatively close in price to my G87. If I was spending $150k it would not be a BMW.
