This applies to all brands and is mostly due to Covid, but yeah, BMW M or non M will keep selling strong. Sorry but BMW is more interested in expanding its market than keeping the traditionalist boomers happy.

Whilst not phased either way, I don't think it's Markus Flasch who's to blame for less than desirable design language.

In the end, Markus would be more responsible for the broader functioning of M-division, including engineering and dynamics of the lineup as well as marketing and future strategies, than he would any single aspect such as design.

Respectfully, he's the CEO, not the quality control or design manager.

During a recent interview with Top Gear, van Hooydonk was asked if he and his team would ever design a production car similar to the brand’s stunning Hommage concept cars. The answer was a definitive no.

“We feel we should continue the fire, as opposed to worshiping the ashes, if you know what I mean,” he said.

That's what I was seeing too. BUT they could have extra covering on there...much like the hoffmeister kink.

Confirmed or not, those grills look stupid. Luckily that seems like something IND can fix pretty easily.

Sales so strong that the local BMW dealer has dozens of M cars sitting on their lot, while you can't find a 911, Boxster, or Cayman at a Porsche dealership anywhere.

What I'm not loving this particular leak, it could end up looking a bit like a retro squared off E30/E36. Still need to wait and see.
Every car on the lot has a $10k markup. You literally cannot get an allocation for 9 months in the tri state area.
I'm going to hijack this thread, as I e-mailed my G83 ZCP build specs this week to my sales manager of a A size dealership. I will shortly see how long an allocation takes, as I don't feel there is too much demand for the vert. The G80 being a four door is always in high demand.

Waiting for an LCI is not exactly completely overrated

Hear it again as I am three years or more away from buying anything

However I am excited to watch the birth of the next baby m car unfold regardless

I like the overall design but legitimately think vertical slats would look real mean without crapping on heritage.

Let's see the final design and product in action.
It looks a little plastic though.

BMW has gone wild with their designs. They are trying to make a statement. We made fun for them saying they are too traditional and conservative, not anymore!

It's like a slap on everyone's face.

I know we've had a lot of complaints about the triangles on the 240i.

Solution: make them squared. :

sad..it turns out to be true…on another thread i told people the leaked photo are real but many of them dont believe :they dont believe bmw will leak prototype bumber to china;and think it is chinese replica;it turns out to be true germany brands are not doing well on this- mercedes s class first revealed in chentian ,smallxtown in south area of china;

what i am not sure is the new design language, seems bmw fine tune the terrible kidney on m4 but they still create a new grill design… lets see how it works

Progress ain't for everyone. Try a safer brand like Buick, sounds like it's more your vibe.

That grill looks like the vents from a hotel room or a store fridge...

The cubism and lack of imagination of BMW design is the most DECADENT I have seen EVER!

Wow.. wow... wow...!
