No clue, hopefully soon as production is scheduled to begin on week 49.

It looks good and is in my opinion a must have for an M car. Terrible that BMW is making people pay $2600 for something that is a cost save over the moonroof.

Do you really think it’s a cost save for them? It does suck that they are charging as much as they are, but I would think the cost is probably comparable. On the M3 it’s no cost difference in either configuration.

I imagine it's close either way. The moonroof adding more complexity, power connections, motor, tracks, etc.

The majority of it is contained within the sunroof cassette. It is not as complex as one would think.

I imagine it’s not close. Sunroof module probably costs a few hundred bucks. That roof probably not cheap to fabricate.

I also imagine that neither of us has any clue whatsoever but it’s fun to speculate.

At least it sounds like the package won’t include the m drivers package.
99% sure it does include m-drivers package

which will be really dumb

Yeah and it pushes my build into M3 territory for cost. With the weight being similar I may be tempted to go for the more practical package if the cost difference isn’t much.

Also, they didn't hold me in any more than the standard M-seats during the fast driving portion of the day.

for those who can do it, absolutely do the $2,500 M drivers package. The M-School Day alone is fun, you can beat up M-cars (and not your own...) most of the day and learn how to be a better driver on the road and on the track.
I was thinking about this as well. I am about 5'8" 155lbs and have a feeling the carbon buckets would be a pain to get in and out. I am having an internal battle with myself about getting them. My brain says pass on the buckets but my heart says get them. Also since I work from home 3 days a week I wouldn't have to get in and out of those seats too much. They just look so amazing it would be hard to pass them up.

      b.    2MA (Manual Transmission);
      c.    Color U94 (Fire Orange) first choice, I have backup choice in case BMW Canada objects (estimate price point verbally quoted by sales rep $4,500 seems same as in 2008 for my E90

4. I might go for 445 Pheonix Yellow instead of U94 Fire Orange if BMW Canada blocks my first choice.

I am stoked!
Fire Orange!!! Love it!! I hope when it is my time I can pull the trigger on that color. Will have a few drinks before ordering lol!

Yes, you are right.

Just got off the phone with my salesman at the local BMW dealer.

He confirmed the M240i is not the full blown M2 model.

The full blown M2 model is called (wait for it...) the M2.

Kind of confusing but it is what it is.

Salesman said no ordering site available yet for the 2023 M2. Said he would call me when it becomes available.
How????

When on earth will the US configurable be available? It's crazy that they don't have this stuff ready for the launch.

So 36 days until it's live, or are you saying sometime between now and that date?

Every launch US configurator is always way behind. Not sure why BMW does this. Where is even the US official ordering guide? Porsche has the configurators up literally by they next day after debuts. Case in point the new Carrera T, less than 12hrs it was on their site.

Wait - Individual colors?

Do you have an order sheet you can share? I thought Individual was not available (at least, yet).

Sadly, I think M3WC is probably correct. It has confirmed on the launch video.

My salesman is hopeful. However, I am afraid he might be wrong (since when do enthusiasts know more than the salespersonel? /s). I guess we shall see when he can put the build in the system.
