Hopefully this CF trim for the non-bucket seats will be available separately…

Great aftermarket option if you will not go with the carbon bucket seats, imho.

Eww- What an ugly attitude.

Personally, I (and any true automotive enthusiast) would embrace a Supra with an S58 coming into the marketplace. It would mean there's another potentially exciting vehicle available. If it brings competition to BMW, great!

What are you afraid of?
Even better partner with lotus for a special edition emira s58
Take my money if that were ever to happen, which we all know it won't…

I want very badly to spec exactly as you did but I live in USA. Hoping I can find a workaround... happy for you mate!

Do you know what a pain it is to take camo off? If it's just an M2 test car there's no reason to spend all day peeling it off.

It's not like the pictures get released and all the engineers drop what they're doing to remove vinyl wrap.

Exactly, and eventually the car will be destroyed.

That didn't occur to me, but indeed sounds pretty logic.

This is the only real doubt I have right now. Buckets or these ones. The buckets look extremely gorgeous but the price to pay for them is very high (around €9k) as it forces you to pay for the M Drivers Package (why BMW?).

Honestly, I would probably only take it to track once or twice and it will might be my daily car so I am scared the buckets will be too uncomfortable. But God, they are very tempting. And these M Sport seats are already very good.

Same here hermano, the bucket seats require a package that included the M Drivers package and the head-up display, which I have no interest in at all, so basically to get the seats we have to pay 8k. And as cool as they are, they are certainly not worth 8k...

I agree. In Canada it’s called the M Carbon Package. After doing the math on the package the seats worked out to being a $7,150 option.Thats way to much money just for seats.

Especially when those seats make ingress/egress so much more of a pain (literally and figuratively). Maybe if it were a show car. Definitely if it were a track car.

Another thing I am wondering is that the bucket seats look thinner than the M sport ones so, does that mean that, with them, the car has more rear legroom?

Can confirm this is 100% true. Noticeable legroom increase with buckets over the other seats. Noticed this in the M4 too.

There we have it... A way to sell my wife on the buckets. "More room for the car seat in the back!"

Thanks for the confirmation!

Good luck managing her disdain for those seats every single time she gets in or out. I owned a car with race buckets and high bolsters, and my gf at the time would point how much she hated those seats every time I drove that car. She couldn't even get in or out without help if her skirt/dress was tight. I managed it because she was only a girlfriend, but you're married and still use a car seat! You're either really brave or really stupid.

My wife has lived with my street cars being on air ride (or even worse on coilovers that were setup for the track), probably too loud, and sparco or recaro fixed buckets when I was younger. She also used to like coming to the track with me.
Not to mention doing a 7 day road trip with all of our camping gear in a 135i pushing over 500hp and a rear roll cage (24hr drive to the coast and can't recline your seats). We were much younger then, but she has always been a good sport.

This car will be a toy car. Something I can track for fun and drive on Sundays. Will only have one kid in a car seat by then, but nice to know the backseats are usable for two kids under 3. She drives an SUV, and I daily a 2021 2500HD Denali, so I am not too worried about the practicality necessarily.

Perhaps this is pure speculation, but I believe that in some markets there is hope of having the bucket seats alone without the rest of the stuff included in the package.
I am checking the official price lists of some European markets and it seems that the carbon seats are available either as part of the race track pack - or whatever it is called in other markets - or as a single option, with a clearly specified (insanely high) price, while on the online configurator they can only be added with the whole package (although the price of the option alone is specified).
Usually the online configurators are a bit messy, especially before the car's market launch, and the price lists I'm checking are the same ones that dealers check when ordering the car, so maybe there's hope.
