Been writing for the Roundel since 2002. 3 articles already this year - working on 4 more.

Congratulations John! Very good article. Made me think of the many many miles that my sister and I spent fighting.. I mean riding... in the back seat during family vacations. Sometimes facing backwards in the old station wagon.

IMHO, this did a poor job on the layouts and photo reproduction.

But, perhaps my next article will look better...fingers crossed.

Thanks! That's what I was shooting for. Instead of the same old boring car review, I wanted to add a human element that the reader could connect with.

John- Looking forward to your article also. I really like it when car magazines move away from the standard tech specs-focused format also. For instance, the Car & Driver article on $2000 diesel beaters was hilarious a couple of months back!

Just got Roundel. Excellent John. Nice to see a fellow Gator on the board. Burrito Brothers is still around too, but no Porpoise. You and I must have crossed paths (among the other 50,000), since I was there from 92 to 00.
