Possibly getting an m2

Currently I have a 2022 BMW M3 xDrive, and also a Jeep Rubicon (husband I and share that through out the week) that I cannot wait to get rid of. I went to my local dealership today and looked at their dark gray 2025 M2 with an auto transmission, fully loaded. I absolutely loved how it drove, and they actually were able to get us a trade on the Jeep without any negative equity, and the GM came over and told them to take an additional $900 off the deal. This was kind of a spur of the moment thing, as it was a surprise that they had any m2s on the lot. I'm thinking of doing it, as I think it sounds like a great deal! Please talk me in or out of it lol.

In the Grigio Telesto Pearl? What was the cost, not including trade? When you say loaded, what was included? Cf roof and interior? Shadowline package?

What's the out the door price on the M2 & amount they're giving you for the Jeep. These should be dealt with as two separate transactions. Also take the Jeep to Carmax and find out what they'll give you, get an offer from Carvana, etc. before agreeing to anything on your trade.

No dealership is is going to do a deal unless it benefits them, so find out how much it's really benefiting them vs you.

so many factors at play... lifestyle, use case, needs vs wants, space and passenger needs (kids etc)... really hard to give any solid advice.

We hated our rubicon. Do it! I just traded my 22 x drive M3 comp for a 25 LCI m2 and I am happy. I had two G80's and wasnt looking for a third one. So I tried the m2 and I am happy I did. Its not as nice as the M3 interior wise. But its fun factor and size make up for it. Do it! Do it! Do it!

Not at all. The M2 is "fun sized" and easier to wip around.

Perfect his and hers combo if you ask me.

Agreed...I have a MY23 G87 Stage 2 on e40 at 740whp and wife has MY23 G42 M240 (which is the car we run errands with and still has some decent power being bone stock).

I am the voice of reason lol. Just because you’re not upside down on the Jeep doesn’t make it a good deal. Are they giving you a good trade in price compared to Nada value, carmax, carvana, etc? Does your state offer tax break on trades? Is the M2 at or below MSRP? Is having a RWD car going to be an issue ?

I personally like variety and think the M3 and M2 are too similar. I like having a 4x4 (21 Bronco) for off-roading, hitting the beach, Home Depot, plowing over mailboxes and pot holes and generally beating on. I think the Jeep is a pretty fun and versatile vehicle. I’m not sure I would make the trade if I already had a beast with an S58

What wheel and tire set up allows you to have any traction with 740 whp? It must be insane

My trans is also tuned. Rears are 20x11 Vossens with 305/30/20 Cup 2s (just replaced the 555R2s). When tires are cold, you just need to drive accordingly. From a dig with DSC/MDM off, need to be cautious. From a roll, no issues unless tires are cold. Of course, if driving on wet roads, DSC/MDM are on and just drive normally under the conditions.

Funny, seems like many people are moving out of wranglers these days. Same here. Lease ends in a few months and the new wranglers are 30% more expensive making it an easy choice.

The wrangler is great for top down driving and is actually a good city car, but only in isolation. The G87 feels 2-3 generations newer than the wrangler.

Do it. The M2 is not a car you will regret owning.

The new Wranglers are severely over-priced, very cheap materials, and Jeep just has too many issues with their tech. I've owned 6 going back to my first which was a '94 Sahara. Simple, rugged, small, & could go anywhere. Our last was a '16 JKU that treated us great for 6 years & 62k mi. We also sold it for just $4k less than we bought it for, so that worked out great also. Canceled our order of a '22 JLU because I couldn't see paying $60k (even at 4% below invoice) for a cheaper-made version of our '16 that we bought for $41k.

My son has a '03 TJ X, which is probably one of the best generations of Wrangler. Back to the simple, no useless tech, easy to work on

OP's lack of responding to questions about the deal make me think it's not such a great "deal" they're being offered.

I don’t think there any “deals” really out there. I’m guessing this was a customer order and they bailed on the car so it’s available. I’m not seeing any dealer ordered M2s, almost all are customer ordered. What I will say is for the price of the car you are getting a lot of value compared to say an M4 and even a base 911. I love the power, the size, fit and finish and the handling. I think this M2 will be looked upon highly favorably over time. And it’s very tunable if that’s your thing.

Nope, just not getting notifications.

Car was $72k, they are asking msrp, plus doing $1k off because who knows why

I owe $36500 on jeep, they're offering $35500 on jeep trade in

Tax savings for trade in apply in my state, so save a bit on that

After everything it was $75600 otd

My guess the $1k off is to make your jeep a wash (on paper for your eyes).
