Brake Pad Service Status in iDrive

Doesn’t the service requirements app on the infotainment include the brake pads?

Is physical inspection the only way to judge how much life the pads have left?

My info is the condition based service system (CBS) will provide an alert when brake pad wear warrants brake attention.

A bit of research -- googling "2023 BMW M2 dash warning lights" (without the quotes) -- I found the dash light with the exclamation mark in a circle ringed by broken parentheses is supposed to signal brake pad wear.

But brake/rotor wear is not the only thing that can justify brake attention.

In my experience it is SOP when a car is in for service the tech gives the car an inspection and the braking system gets it fair share of attention.

I get a print out of the results of the inspection.
