Update 5 to Forza Motorsport brings the G87. I'm not that much of a gamer, but I'm not sure all the hate on Forza Motorsport is warranted. I've been playing it since the inception. It does seem to be disgraceful to launch with so many bugs/issues and lack of tracks, but overall I still enjoy it. Seems like it's getting better. Maybe the competition from racing sims makes it seem more obsolete idk.

They also added the Nordschleife in this update. I'm about to have a go with it in the G87.

This should be fun to mock up different wheels on the car and play around with it to see how well it models wheel styles and color. I'm currently sort of on the fence about what summer wheels and color I might like.

Really wish the same as well. Had an VR for GT7, it would be awesome to crawl under the car to see the exposed oil cooler though 😂. But for the Forza update 5, not too bad, G87 and finally added nordschleife after so long it got released. Btw the G87 sound is wayyy off in the game, almost sounds like a mustang V8.

Just took it for a spin. Handles well, prone to oversteer if you power through a corner, just like real life if you take all of the nannies off.
I got it to look like my car in Horizon 5, now i'm gonna work to get it to look like my car in Motorsport. They also included the Nürburgring Nordschleife so woohoo.

Cool. Too bad every time I try to race multiplayer the game crashes after 15 mins of practice right as the actual race is about to start. So stupid the condition they release games in these days.

My son informs me the G87 redline is set to 6400RPM in the game, so it looks like when they modelled the car they only saw the redline on a cold engine.

That's a keen observation on your part that they may have modeled it while cold. I noticed it was under 7k. It doesn't hit a limiter until around the actual redline I believe? I was topping it out on a straight at the Nordschleife and it was hitting 187mph or so before bouncing off the limiter.

My Nordschleife lap times stock were some pathetic time just under 8:30 minutes vs the actual lap record of 7:38 minutes.... I'm not very good at this, but I still love it. I don't even have a wheel, etc. Just using the Xbox Controller on my PC. I need to get a proper wheel.

I started the Career Mode BMW Challenge and started putting mods on it for that. So, I may never go back to stock to see if I can get closer to the record lap. I wish it had the 8 speed auto though.

This is sweet! My kiddos and I were trying to find the G87 in Forza a few months ago but with no luck. Will have to do the update and get one purchased and built.

Just upgrade the transmission to Race and it should work just fine.

I built mine up for the A700 spotlight series, just need to work on the tune. I think it has potential to be a good car but the way I have it, either the front pushes from the apex out, or, the rear end is unstable. Doesn't sound that great in game either lol

Pretty much whatever you want. I have mine just about maxed out with mods. They are sort of generic mods. I almost never fiddle with the tunes, but it would benefit from one I'm sure. I'm just not that serious about this as some may be idk.

Unfortunately, the aftermarket side of things is pretty sparse for the G87. You get a generic lip with red tow strap, generic red tow strap for the rear, and hood pins. You can of course lower it and throw on the literal hundreds of wheel choices, or maybe its less than 2 hundred, it's a lot. This game focuses on the motorsport aspect unlike the Horizon series, which you can not only throw on the wheels, but change their sizes and offsets as well.

Which brings me to the real question, when are you going to have a sale on that TRE kit for the G87?

For real it’s one of the best looking out there - just got my springs and spacers on.

Also enjoy playing Forza some but haven’t in a while because I have too many other projects going at the moment.
