Do Soundskins make a difference? Full review

Ok guys.. time to answer the question: Is it worth it to Soundskin the new BMW G87 M2?

Short answer - Absolutely yes!

The decibel reduction isn't as dramatic as other models like the X5, which isn't surprising considering the size difference. What it does do though is bring down the overall floor of road noise, and also brings down higher frequency noise. My simple gauge only measures total, and not frequency, and the difference while driving is very noticeable.

This is absolutely worth the time and effort, also supporting the factory stereo but especially if you have an upgrade like the Bimmertech Alpha One's like I do.

To address the most common question: weight. The weight addition to the car is absolutely nominal, and you wouldn't even know it was there if someone didn't tell you. A full stage 2 probably adds 30lbs or less of material which is negligible. The doors feel slightly heavier, but after a day or two you won't notice that either. Weight post install is a non-issue.

Check it out, and really there is no reason not to do this.

Does the Soundskin product have a smell to it? Sometimes following a big install, other products can smell for a week or two.

Now, let me share a quick story. When I first installed the Soundskin, I was a bit skeptical about the impact it would have. But after a weekend road trip with friends, everyone in the car noticed how much quieter and more pleasant the ride was. One of my friends, who happens to be a writer, even compared it to the serene silence in a luxury library. Speaking of writing, if any of you are looking for some inspiration i have found https://studyhelper.com/argumentative-essay-samples, you might want to check it out. They have a great collection of samples that can really help sharpen your skills.

Check it out, and really there is no reason not to do this.

Absolutely agree with you! I recently soundproofed my G87 M2 and the difference is night and day. The reduction in road noise really enhances the driving experience, and the stereo sounds even better. As for the weight, I was worried at first, but you’re right—it’s barely noticeable. If you’re on the fence about it, I’d say go for it. It’s a worthwhile upgrade that makes a big difference.
