Even in a mid-engine car, where will it find traction?

With a flat plane crank and trubos, that engine likely is making its power in the 7000-8000hp range and not much (comparatively) down low.

That said, no manual and mid engine so who cares? Just a other car for internet braggarts and fat old men.

it will probably be a boost by gear setup like the 488 and 720. full power not coming on until like 4th gear.

i'd still rather have the z06.

Agree, I think the Z06 is the sweet spot. Revs higher and N/A engine.

It's mid engine, giant sticky tires, huge aero and boost by gear, it will be just fine.

Meh. Still will be traction issues. Have a 1300 WHeel GTR and still spin with rolling launch. Cup 2 ‘s not enough. My opinion

Chevrolet chassis tuning is top notch and they aren't afraid to put real rubber on there. For sure that much power won't be usable a lot of the time, but their cars are the real deal. Just watched the E-ray vs. Acura NSX and it wasn't even close. These cars don't just go straight, they turn.

Agree GM can put together a great handling car...however 1,000 plus HP in a rwd only application will spell problems as it's a function of the ability to have grip to put it all down. Gears 1-3, likely will be useless going 10th, 10ths and will require all electric aids on coming out of corners.

Again, I'm all for it but 98% of drivers don't have the skillet for the Z06, never mind the ZR1 or the coming Zora. Point to point this will be nuts with the ability for closing speeds.

Watching the video first few gears are torque limited.

Not disagreeing, but to be fair this whole car was designed around 1000+ HP output (in 2024 no less) while the GTR came from the factory with half of that.

I am just glad cars like this are still being produced and the whole industry has not yet been reduced to decisions made by accountants and not engineers.

99% of drivers can't handle a C5 with driver aids turned off. These cars have been beyond the skill level of even the average enthusiast for decades. Even people with significant track time and training can't come close to fully utilizing even things like the C6GS or C6Z.
