Does anyone happen to know what the part number is for the OEM charging pad? A bunch of folks on the G20 forums successfully swapped theirs out, and I’m willing to gamble a couple hundred bucks on trying it if I can obtain the correct part.
I really don’t trust Alibaba chargers, I’d rather go without. But if I can drop the OEM part in and it just works that would be neat. |

I followed directions from the G20 forum, the center trim is the same. It's pretty simple. Pop out the cupholders (two T20 screws under the rubber mat at the bottom), take out the old NFC pad (two clips on the front), disconnect the cable (pick tool helps here). Then reverse it with the wireless charging pad.

I realized today that if I retrofitted the OEM pad my iPhone 12 Pro does not fit flush.
But add on unit raises it up slightly wehere phone glides in due to shape of internal walls in console. Waiting to receive it and post. I expect 1/3rd price with additional USB fast charge port will probably be better than OEM and still look normal. |

I have some travel planned where this will be handy and I really wanted an OEM-looking solution, but I don’t think anyone is seriously missing out without this. Certainly not for the $205 the part cost me. Honestly the $10 puck isn’t a terrible option. I would go a step further and say the best option is just to plug directly into the USB-C port in the center. Wired charging is always more efficient and the car has a 15 watt (5v/3A) USB-C port built in. |

I had received and installed it, just perfect!
There is a little power button that you can press and leave that on all the time but soon as you put your phone into the center console on top of the charging pad the new unit automatically charges the phone and kicks on a tiny little fan and lights up status of charging. I did a test and was driving around and charging for one hour and pulling out the phone it was cool to the touch and the pad was barely warm. If you want to put your digital key credit card you push down and the thing flips up. However the really cool thing is if you do digital key on your iPhone like I did all you need to do is bring your phone with you put it in the center console, the digital ID automatically is recognized by the car and the phone starts charging. Pleased as it is quality and just works and looks OEM kinda sorta, ie not out of place and most people would not be the wiser. |

I bought one too. It's a brilliant product. However, it doesn't seem tk charge any better than the Front USB plug. Phone still gets hot (I've used an old and brand new phone) and the device flashes orange in error more often than not. I think it's getting too hot and preventing itself from getting overheating damage. When I first got it, I had no issues, but now that it's 90+ degrees in Texas, I think the heat is getting to it.
I really do like it tho, even someone as OCD as me about weird noises can look past the fan noise for covenient wireless charging |

I see that the original poster is using an iPhone. I'm starting to think Android auto may be the issue. Apple car play seems to be way more stable and fleshed out
