Funny article about nav
I have been less than thrilled with nav systems to date. My previous MB S430's nav never had any of the golf courses in it that I was looking to find. In addition, I have this feeling that car based nav systems will be really dated in 3 - 5 years given the huge progress in the handset industry.
Now comes a WSJ story about some funny experiences with Nav. So, I hope I am happy missing out on the other tech goodies...cause probably not getting ZTP... wsj artice on gps.pdf

I once wanted to go to outback and ended up at someones house. Other than that the GPS is great. Id does more good than harm. The only problem I have is that that more I use it the more dependent i become on it. Before, I would remember how to get to a place the second time since I had to put an effort to remember it. Now i don't really pay attention where i am going I just follow the instructions.
Lets just hope that this blind following is not the start of computer's plans to take over mankind... |
