550i GT winter tires and rims
Gents,
Just bought 2010 550i GT with sport package (20" rims) and have a question about winter tires and rims. Can I go with 18" rims or because of the large calipers I should get 19". Which tires would be the best? Bridgestone or Pirrelis? Thank in advance for your replies. |

Usually, but I don't know on that vehicle, you can put any standard wheel on the car. So, if it can come with 18", an 18" would fit. It should say in the user's manual.
On the 18", Michelin just came out with the PA3 snow in run-flat. The first run was small, so there may not be too many around. Call your supplier if you want to check that out. the roads are often crappy in the winter, and the higher profile 18" tires will have a better chance of surviving the winter than 20" tires and wheels. |
