Thanks everyone!
I got the same one but with the charging, really don't like where BMW placed the USB centered and its annoying having the cord go there - really debating tapping behind the dash to give a cleaner install. The mount is awesome otherwise.

You can see it in this image.

Shoot, I didn’t realize that the vent mount won’t work . Did you go with adhesive?

Thanks everyone!
TorontoRedCoastie is your trim piece on the right not fully in 100% to original seating? Installed exact location like yours but on the left side but can't get the trim piece in 100%. First glance looks ok and it's secured but not the fitment I was expecting at this price point. I also received the new mount which is significantly larger in diameter than your pics and what's on the website. The bracket is just too thick for the trim to seat properly.

Other than this, the bracket has cheap paint on it, if you try to remove it after install, expect to remove the paint. This calls for stripping the paint and applying new 3M tape. Additionally, use some lock tight on the screw as mine got loose trying to position the mount even after tightening fully.

ttaidapos here’s how it’s seated. I don’t notice anything out of place. I would just ensure where you mounted is not interfering with the trim reconnecting.

Could be the angle but yours looks like mine, just a bit closer to the edge vs. bring fully recessed. I'll try a few different positions tomorrow. The only other thing I can think of, the bracket is now thicker with the new mount.

Why wouldn't the vent work? I have one that is not magsafe and sits the phone in a holder instead and works exactly the same as this one. I just bought two of these that go in the vent. Will post pics when they come in. One for me and one for my wife's car.

The peak design one requires 2 horizontal vent slats. Would work in the sides, but not the center.

I had the same issue with it leaving a gap. I couldn't find a spot where it wouldn't do that and it bothered me so I uninstalled it.

I emailed Rennline asking if they'd develop a G87 specific mount that would not cause this issue, but they said they are only making stuff for Porsches moving forward.

I moved it to the driver's side so I didn't see the gap every day lol I wanted a non vent mount and didn't want to forfeit the cup holders either. At first I wasn't thrilled about the larger diameter mount but magsafe standard has changed that thought. So far, happy with the install. Quality still sucks if you ask me, bad paint adhesion and poor quality tape. Both can easily be fixed.
