Just curious why you think that? Two years isn't that long, and would be consistent with how it was done last gen. Would make sense to come out with a comp model together with a updated design, not beforehand.

These are all potential variants in the lifecyle of every M car including the G87. M# > M#C > M#CS > M#CSL > M# GTS > M# ? Just look at the M3/4 for instance. The base M3/4 and M3/4C came out at the same time. Then a year later they offered the M3/4C xDrive, then the M4 CSL came out. Today we got news of yet another M3 model coming out, possibly a CS. And don't forget the limited run 3.0 CSL which is based off the M4 that will be out later. And don't believe for a second that's all, there will be many more variants to come. |

If BMW continue to not offer the MT on those variants and possible base M2 post LCI, I am not interested.

At any rate, I really don’t expect much from the G87 comp this time around. Colors and suspension tweaks, wheels and a slightly different front end. Super small power bump to 473 hp…

I am thinking of doing a deposit on one when I get my G87 delivered, on the off chance it's worth it, and I like it more. Or hopefully by then I can just keep both

Act sooner rather than later. I have heard through the grapevine that some BMW Centers have already taken deposits for the G87 LCI.

I bring this up here because the G42 LCI is 04/2025 and if the G87 follows the same road it too should get an LCI update at the same time the G42 does. What those changes will be it's too early to say. |

Reason I mentioned that he knew my order was with another dealer is to demonstrate he wasn’t trying to get me to buy it, he had nothing to gain by telling me that… This is what headoffice in Melbourne told him. True or not, I don’t know - but this car isn’t far off the base M3 and rivals with the previous M2 CS, a competition version with mad power gains would probably make higher M car owners pretty angry - BMW are also committed to going hybrid and electric… it would make sense IMO that they wouldn’t be spending too much more effort on a competition model, so to keep us happy and make some money they make one last fully petrol M2 and use a whole lot of M3/4 parts… |

It would be nice if the G87 M2 was actually delivered before all the speculation about a mythical M2C is solidified LOL. Who cares if they have an LCI or LIC or CSL etc. They have 3 years of production before it is done. The LCI, LC, CS, CSL, Comp etc should practically be finished and on the road for major testing yet no M2's have been delivered lol!

Sure, credible or not I don’t know… I guess this whole thread is speculation… just thought about that convo when you were certain there would be a comp. Time will tell |

G87 M2
In production until 07/29 G87 M2 Competition will indeed be called "M2 Competition". https://g29.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686 |

Old news. FYI, if it is anything like the G80/G82 Comp, the G87 Comp will be automatic and xDrive only. |
