PPF and Winter wheel+tire suggestion (This section looks lonely)
This section looks a bit empty so hope I would get some responses.
I just got my allocation for the G87 and car should get here in MA around late October. Just in time for the winter! So I am looking to some PPF and wonder anyone in the area has suggestion for a good installer. I know Xpel site listed some but I might want to use 3M or STEK but couldn't find much info. I have a BMW F22 228xi currently and never driven a FR car before so definitely a bit nervous about the winter driving. I am planning on getting a set of wheel and tires. I saw in the wheels section there is a BMW winter package running for about $4k. Tirerack seemingly has no wheels for winter for the G87. I just wonder if anyone know some good local MA physical wheel stores? |

I'm also searching for a PPF installer in the Boston area -- specifically one that uses the STEK brand. I came across a shop named Autoworx in Woburn. I haven't reached out to them yet, but I follow their work on Instagram. You might consider checking them out.

Had three cars PPF'd by Kevin. Top notch work. Also had my F87 M2 paint corrected. |

In the event this helps anyone out in the area: If in Maine or close enough - I had my PPF done through BMW of Westbrook (fantastic dealer experience, generally) and really am hating the end result. I think it's done by Xtracoat and it's definitely poorly cut templates that they utilize that have some egregious seams in places that absolutely shouldn't - amongst other small issues. Avoid.
I had PPF done at my local BMW dealer, through Xtracoat (BMW of Westbrook here in Maine) - I love the guys there, and the dealer experience is fantastic but jesus christ the PPF guy has botched it twice. I'm just going to call it a loss and bring it elsewhere. I believe it's done by Xtracoat |

I actually ended up doing the full front by the BMW Sudbury when I got my car last year.
And then decided to finish the rest of the car at Q Car Care in Burlington. The dealer one forgot PPF for the lower bumper plastic part so took it in and they finished that off. Q Car Care didn't miss any spots but there were some bubbles but I took it back in and they fixed or redid them. Q Car Care did also redo the whole car ceramic coating when I get the rest of the car PPF. I think overall both places did a good enough job. |
