I was fortunate enough to get to take a motorcycle tour of Japan this year, and it exceeded my high expectations. I'll definitely be going back, but don't know if I can get BMW to loan me an M2, but I guess I'll have to come up with something on my own!

As always with Japan, you saw so much cool stuff we didn't and I'm sure if I posted stuff from our route, it would be much the same for you. A country of many variations!

Interesting BMW M2/Japan story. We concluded our motorcycle tour and spent another week wandering around on our own. One of the "bucket list" places I wanted to see was the Honda Collection in Motegi.

While we were there, there were some regional/club car races going on. When we in the pits, one of the BMW race teams had a new M2 behind their pit (a dealer demo as it still had signs that were in the window in the back seat).

We had been unable to do much other than see an M2 (that we couldn't get inside of) on a stand at the Daytona 24 earlier that year. My wife has issues with her neck and a lot of headrests in cars, and it was important for us to know that when we got the car it would be comfortable for her.

We asked in the pits and one of the nice folks let us open up and sit in the M2. While it was right-hand drive, we still got a good feel for comfort and went away thrilled.

So, the first time we sat in/started an M2 was in the Motegi pits in Japan!

Sure! Just that the photos were all taken with a phone so might not be the highest resolution.

Yes, the roads in Japan are almost all silky smooth. And very rarely did I encounter any road humps/speed bumps.

I wish I was a writer lol. Writing is just a hobby, but it has allowed me to drive some awesome cars as a hobbyist automotive reviewer for BMW Singapore.

UI/UX design is what ultimately pays the bills here. Also some side income as a freelance automotive illustrator.
