Does that make sense guys?
It would have made sense to offer the same colors available for the M3/4, that's all.

Exactly what I’m doing in a couple of weeks! BSM is best colour and the stealth will make the lines pop out like no other colour, making it aggressive looking as hell

I just had to redo mine 3 times due to bubbles from a good installer. Atleast he was good. If it’s under warranty you still lose time. Forget it if you damage paint and have to redo the PPF. Terrible experience.

It does it’s job. But so does paint!

PPF is easy to maintain. As far as damage, if using a reputable and authorized XPEL installer, you should have no issues (you should then have installer's warranty and warranty under XPEL and their authorized installer) and covered as long as you dont do and significant damage due to your own negligence.

If you install XPEL or other ppf yourself, you have no complaints or repercussions other getting mad at yourself.

Yes, frozen or matte finishes are harder to maintain but if the right colors (not saying these two choices are good), its worth it. Can't always have your cake and eat it too...

They mix up too much frozen paint and it’s not selling? Lol can’t wait to see how dealerships deal with trashed lease returns from people on their frozen painted 330s

Think you missed the point- if you have a minor issue with someone even dinging your car… double the work. Double the price

I have PPF and it’s a pain. Helps for rock chips. But so would an extra clear coat. Or two.

I honestly think you have it wrong. Nothing will prevent dents. XPEL can prevent minor, and I mean minor, damage from say a rolling shopping cart and it will be self sealing from the rock chips, if breached, if not flat out protected.

You are going to have your car sprayed with additional clear coat(s)? That is just plain silly, costly and can be detrimental in the long run...plus, wont necessarily do shit from rock damage.

Edited to correct typos.

Even ignoring the upkeep, in my humble opinion they look like a rattle can job, conceal a car's lines, and have already felt played out for years.

I'm sad.

Man, in the same boat too and disappointed. I hope there will be some other colors listed and the press release thought to put in frozen colors as an appetizer for more to come?

Haha! I meant I'd like both types. I just would love to see a deeper color to show off those fender flares!

Ideally, I want to create (or re-create) my E46 in a deep grey. Look at this gorgeous color!

Frozen is tough from what I have witness, it may not look that good in pics on certain models and then in person in motion it looks great then other times its the other way around. Its tough for me, but then again the cool part is that you have the option to get these if you are someone who wants it so all in all its a plus

I've had a CLA45 in stealth grey for a couple of years now. I had the front PPF'ed and the whole thing ceramic coated. I've yet to have an issue with miantenance. I do hand wash it, but I do that to all of my cars.

I totally agree with your comment about the additional clearcoat being a waste of money. It will not prevent damage if the car is traveling at high speeds and hit with small rocks that would normally cause damage to the paint down to the primer. PPF from reputable brands like Xpel will do a much better job, they are self healing and the vast majority of the time will protect your paint finish.

A friend of mine has a 2023 M3 Competition in Brooklyn Grey & carbon roof which is a beautiful color combination. He put Xpel PPF and then ceramic coating on the BG color and it looks magnificent.

He considered going the frozen route for about two seconds and then said it was a waste of money because he would have to cover it with Xpel Stealth PPF anyway to protect the finish.

PPF really does work. My cars that doesn't have ppf will have chips all over the bumper and hood. I DIY my current car and 2 years in, I can't see a single chip. I just ordered the whole front kit for my incoming car and it only cost $543. This is for the full hood and fender, bumper and mirror. If you can DIY, $543 is NOTHING to protect the whole front. My current car is my first time DIY ppf and it's a bitch at first. Once you learned to stretch the film, it gets easier and easier. 2 years in and still looks good, no lifting at all.

P.s. the M2 front bumper does look like a bitch to install due to all the angles.

There is a simple way to avoid dings on the side of your car, I always park on the far end of parking lots in an wide open area with nobody parked near me. This is 99% fool proof method.

While we are on this PPF subject, has anyone put Stealth PPF on the new Skyscraper Grey color? I would love to see a picture of how it looks.

The reason why I am asking is because I have seen pictures posted in the Z4 G29 forum of Skyscraper Grey with the Magna Red interior and I think it looks as good as the frozen grey with magna red. SSG will probably look awesome with a stealth PPF and magna red.
