PDC Activation Malfunction

Got these today. Kept repeating every time I slowed down to near parking speeds.

Is this a know problem? Fluke or a bad sign?

Thanks.

Did you pull over. Shut down and wait a few sec and restart. Like a reset. Many times such spurious reports are deleted and do not appear again.

I had this happen, even after a restart it came back, just wiped the sensors and it stopped. Oddly, the car has been much dirtier than when that happened, but I'm pretty sure it was just something on the sensors causing it to freak out.

PPF over the sensor itself may also increase the error rate.

No PPF on mine.

My car was super clean. Drove to gym no problems. 1 hr later driving out this started to happen every time I got close to another car.

Today it’s not giving errors. But I forgot to check for stored messages. I’ll do a scan later.

After shutting the engine off and locking the doors the car needs a good 10~15 minutes to turn off everything.

So, is it common to have random PDC malfunctions? That is my main reason for posting - to see if others see this every now and then.

You should never see any malfunction repeatedly. It's either a software bug, defective PDC component or the system needs to be recalibrated.
