Bimmertech Alpha One install DIY - easy install for a massive audio upgrade

Hey yall! Yeah, two new videos this week but I wanted to get out my other big project: The full BimmerTech Alpha One speaker upgrade into my G87 M2.

My F87 was fully upgraded, and I knew I would NEED to do this in the G87 even as I ordered it. The HiFi speakers are barely ok, and candidly the HKs should be the entry level speakers. The G87 has HKs by default, and I knew they had to go for the vastly superior Alpha One speakers.

The install isn't hard, takes only a few simple tools and a few hours to do, and is absolutely worth it! Every BMW I see with HiFi or HKs make me want to upgrade them on the spot!

Check it out and let me know if I can help you do the same!

Thanks man, I plan on doing the amp as well, as I hear the new mounting bracket may be available starting next week!

In your video you said the tweeters are "daisy chained" into the mid-speaker. Is this part of the installation from Bimmertech or is the factory tweeter also wired this way? I haven't done a speaker upgrade in a modern BMW, but my old M Roadster had dedicated wiring from the amp to each tweeter. I would hope that BMW and Bimmertech are running a dedicated channel to each speaker. Please fill me in if I'm missing something.

Yeah, OEM tweeters are coming off the nearby mid speaker, no dedicated run at least anymore. Its been that way for quite some time.. my 2014 F32 was that way, and pretty much any BMW I have touched in quite some time. The Bimmertech speaker operates by default in the same way, but with the filter in line.

That's disappointing, but good to know. I was considering an active system with each tweeter and speaker having their own DSP channel, but I guess I can simplify things now.
