Anyone else name their car?
My Jet Black 330i manual is on the Kassel and should be here in socal around the 22nd of November. Trying to think of a name for it...
Has anyone else given their car a pet name? Would like to hear what they are... |

Congrats! And Welcome!
A friend named Kelly suggested I name my E90 after her. Then I thought I could name the E91 Stephanie after our CA. But I don't really refer to my cars by name (I would if they would come when I called them though).

Betty. She was the automated answer system on the 1800 number that kept my updated throughout my long and torturous wait for my vehicle. Then I was sad that I wouldn't need to talk to her again , but lo and behold, she ended up being my navigator. I was so happy to hear from her again.

Pet name for the BMW
Oddly enough, my wife and I never bothered to name our cars before. The 330i is the first car we've owned that garners enough respect and affection to merit a pet name, rather than being just a transportation device. Given that it's a 4-door with a diaper bag well in the trunk, we call it the Familymobile.
BTW, we are wondering if there will be any other uses for that well once our daughter is potty trained. |

I didn't name my E46, but people at work have suggested I name my E90. I've been looking at baby name websites (no joke ) for German female names. So far I like Steffi or Rikka, but Rikka supposedly means "mistress of all." If I knew *exactly* what that meant, I would choose it...
Any good German female names that don't sound too harsh and mean something nice?

I named my E90 "Izzy" short for Isolda, an old fashioned German womens name. During our European Delivery we were in Rotenburg and asked the manager of our hotel for a good German name to match the female voice of the car.

Honey, what car are you driving?
Hmm.... I don't know dear. I think I am going to drive the navy blue car today. There you have it. I don't have a fancy name of it (or her) |

I have never named my car, but I did name the female voice in the nav...Shirley. Why Shirley? Because "Shirley" she must know where she's going... ba da bing!
