Nitron elec-TRON for the G87

If any of you have been around the F87 world you might have seen our custom Nitron kits that we dialed in specifically for that platform. These kits have been great on the F87 and we are excited to start working on some G87 options - specifically Nitron's new elec-TRON line.





As with the F87 we are going to take each one of these kits and dial them in to provide the best possible ride comfort without sacrificing performance. We were able to make huge jumps in performance on the F87 while at the same time providing a much less harsh ride. Initial reports from Nitron have been excellent and I fully expect to replicate the success we have had with the F87 in the G87. Having the added benefit of EDC control will absolutely take these kits to the next level. Our custom kits are built by Nitron to our specs with full warranty and the absolute best in durability. All service is done here in the United States for North American customers.

Nitron also displayed their new Front Axle Lift system at SEMA. This will fit either the R1 or R3 and are another awesome development to provide a bit of ground clearance when needed.

We should have our first test kit (the 3 way R3) soon that will go straight on our G87 test mule to start the development process. I will update this thread as more info comes down.

Intriguing.

Can you adjust compression and rebound independently? If so how many adjustment points are there?

The R3 kit will have have separate controls both on the remote canister (either piggyback or hosed). The 3rd point of adjustment is through the EDC control. The effect on rebound I will not know exactly until we get the test kit and throw it on the dyno (which will be the first thing that we do). Once I have that info will pass it along for sure.

So far the two kits that went out for testing in the UK have come back with nothing but praise. We are certainly going to give them an honest assessment though and if there is any room for improvement in any way we will do so with our kits.

Not 100% sure yet but should be pretty soon. These are on the list of the first set of test kits they are putting together for us. At SEMA they were hoping to ship out at the end of Nov so hopefully that holds up. We do have the traditional R3 3-way kit available now though - just the elec-TRON versions are the ones getting ready to make their debut.

Our elec-TRON R3 test kit is on the way! Going to start development immediately once we have it in our hands. Pricing has been set on the R3 & R1 kits too:

Nitron elec-TRON R1: 5,867.00 USD + shipping
Nitron elec-TRON R3: 8,367.00 USD + shipping (piggyback reservoirs)
Nitron elec-TRON R3: 9.547.00 USD + shipping (remote reservoir - hoses with quick disconnects)

My preference is with remote hosed reservoirs and that is how our test kit is fashioned. Both piggyback and hosed have their advantages though and comes down to personal preference. Will keep updating as we progress!

Does the R3 require more front clearance than the stock shock body? It seems the R3 lower perch/collar aligns adjacent to the sidewall. I think the stock strut OD at that point is 62MM. I have 305 up front with like 4MM of clearance and I'd rather not space out further. Also, what is the length of the R3 remote hoses?

I will measure the clearance once we have the car and report back. One of our priorities though is to provide as much clearance as possible - with the traditional R1 & R3 kits we spec a spring length to allow for the perch to be higher and avoid the conflict you are mentioning. If we find that necessary with the elec kits we will do the same. Definitely do not want these to be more limiting than the oem and best case even provide a bit more room. The hose length we will spec is not set yet. Once we have them on the car we will come up with a spec length for our preferred mounting position (as well as some mounts to work with that location too). However one of the nice things about these will be that everything we spec is just a starting point. We are going to spec what we feel works the best through our testing but from there just about everything but the valving can be adjusted. Particularly with the R3 kits we will have multiple options that can be used to dial them in exactly to your usage/preferences.

Definitely understand that - supposed to be here within the next couple of weeks. First they are going to Inertia Laboratory so they can gather their baseline measurements and then to us for the install & initial testing. Will start providing feedback immediately as well on how we decide to proceed with our kits.

The G8x electron kits are not quite ready yet. The way the EDC works is a bit different than the previous gens and are taking a bit longer to work out all the kinks in the design phase. Hopefully soon we have a set in our hands to start being able to test. That being said from my experience with the F8x electron kits - although they are awesome at what they do - I would personally go with a traditional kit for track only. It's not that the electron kits are not perfectly capable - it's that I prefer to have as much adjustment range at my control as possible. With the EDC being locked into the preset settings while we can make the most out of these but for a track only application I want every bit of adjustment I can get to being able to fine tune the car at any point I want when I'm chasing 10ths. Down the line when the standalone controller comes out for the electron kits we will have this kind of control - but that is still a ways out. Personally for my race cars and what I consider hardcore track cars I run the traditional. With the dual usage cars the electron absolutely is awesome. Can still be awesome on a track only but that extra bit of fine tuning in my opinion is worth it.

Question elec-tron Roadsport with FAL?

I'm not planning on tracking my car, is the Roadsport kit still under development too? Would the elec-tron Roadsport coilover kit support the FAL system? I know people have been bugging you about the FAL system, but do you have any idea when it might be available and do you have any cut-sheets or more info? Thanks!
