22 m240 + dp + jb4 0-60
K&N drop in filter, Active Autoworkes catted DP, JB4 Map 4 w/ 2 gal E85.
245 Conti DWS 06+ all season tires on a damp overcast day. Car is still learning the map and IATs were over 110. I think getting down into the 3.2s, maybe even 3.1s is attainable under the right conditions. |

You're not wasting any time. Do you know how much boost our cars run stock?
Map0: Stock tuning, fully disable JB4 Map1: 3psi over stock added (91 octane) Map2: 4psi over stock added (91-93 octane) Map3: 6psi over stock added (93+ octane) Map4: Absolute target map with peak target of 20psi (93+ and/or 30% E85, EWG connector suggested) Map5: Absolute target map with peak target of 22psi (30% E85+ fuel, EWG connector suggested) |

Edit: Upon further review of logs (some from the M240 some from my Supra but still a B58TU) it appears the ECU will sometimes request boost up to 20 PSI. It looks like it requests higher boost with higher IATs. Sub 100 F IATs result in 14-16 psi requests. Once the IATs start going up, so does requested boost. Makes sense from a stand point of hotter air is less dense and contains less O2 particles, so jam more air in the engine for similar burn. It also retards ignition advance in these scenarios. Wow! So what would a 3.4 0-60 translate into 1/4 mile times?

I will say that it does increase the volume a decent amount, but isn't obnoxious or drone in the cabin. I think it's a happy medium, plus can provide actual performance gains. |

I plan on going with a similar setup, some sort of intake (either just the drop-in or a whole setup for better sound), catted DP, and tune. Those numbers are quite impressive!
I have access to lots of E85 (heart of downtown Chicago), but haven't researched it enough (is JB4 too 'dumb', are upgraded pumps needed, how to properly mix, ability to easily switch back to 93 when in a pinch, is it overall worth it, etc.). |

This is the same JB4 that was on my Supra so I have a bit of experience in the arena. Let me know if you have any questions. |

Yup, I've been following the locked DME issue since the onset on the SupraMKV forums. Crazy that the Russian FEMTO route is still basically the only option, thought it would have been cracked by now. Additionally, BMW dealers (like Audit) can now flag just about everything including a JB4 (as the boost would be out of range), so it's a risk in general. I plan to buy used a let the first buyer take the depreciation hit though, so I'm not too concerned on that front. Great that switching maps is so easy. As hinted, there's literally like 5 gas stations in a mile of me with E85 so this might be viable (and seems to really up the performance!). |

do a lot of logging and watch your fuel trims i had some situations where it was maxing out and the car would drop into map8. needed to work with Terry and we made some adjustments to make it stable. E40 with jb4 on our cars will run good for a while but eventually it will pull timing, the ECU will learn and try to adjust. the only way to fix this is a BEF with MHD which we can't do yet. i run E30 now all the time and my fuel trims are stable and maxing out at 25.1 lbs of boost. enjoy the car its a beast.....cant drive in peace everyone wants to race lol
