Are Inner Headlights "Real"?!

Can anyone validate whether the M240i has "real" or "fake" inner headlights?

The M240i only has one main Bulb so I highly doubt it's fake because it just wouldn't work at all.

Yeah, I don't see any sort of 2002-resemblence in the new two's headlights, but the lack of an empty slot purely for the sake of "tradition" is welcome.

The homage to the 2002 is not to resemble it but to mimic the single light on either side versus the more common two on either side... or now with this information, one real, one fake light on either side.

I don't why it's a big deal? It's not like it inhibts the function of the lightning in any way. It is a styling element, there are other things on cars just for the sake of style that arent functional.

I don't disagree, merely curious. After looking at a close-up, it's clear that this doesn't apply.

Thanks, I totally get that. My point, badly phrased, was that there's nothing wrong with two headlights. Form should follow function and the designer shouldn't need to claim that it was connected to the 2002 in any way, shape or form. The designer, in this case, simply made a logical design decision.

Thank you for your response! I think he did what others were afraid to do and came up with something that didn't quite fit into the current BMW design language formula but was able to create something that really embodies the connection of BMW from the past and where BMW plans to go. I'm really loving it!
