Dealer offered Interior Protection Plan?
First time (to be) BMW owner here - waiting for retrofitting RAM at VPC.
While waiting for pickup, I recall my dealer offered me Interior Protection Plan/Package when placing the order for ~$2000. It was the only add-on offered to me and I was told it is a 7-year (if I remember correctly) warranty on my interior including leather seats for any damage, stain or pollution that they can go as far as changing the entire seats and other interior parts. I was in a hurry that day and didn’t think too much - so I didn’t decline. I remember it was shown as an item on my quote and price list when I paid the $1000 down. Now after doing some research it seems people all tend to give it a pass and it might even just be a third party thing. That being said, just to confirm that it is totally not worth it and can I still decline it when I pick up the car? I haven’t signed any financial documents yet as I will be trading in my old car and paying the price difference in cash. |

Not worth it. Definitely save yourself the money and tell them immediately to not apply to car

Make sure to contact your salesperson asap and be clear you do not want this done to your car. $2000 is really brave. My dealer tried to sneak in a $800 protection package. Usually dealers will be at $500-$1000. Even that is a big ripoff. The protection probably has a market value of $100-200 from a detailer.
I bought a Merc before where the dealer was adamant they applied it to all cars in inventory and it was "too late" for me to not pay for it. Just say you're walking away. They'll change their tune. I've read mixed things about whether it might be illegal for the dealer to force you to buy it. Depends on the state I think. Either way, you shouldn't be on the hook for it. |

Don't do it! Call right away and cancel before your car comes in.

It's probably Scotchguard and Amorall. Tell them now you don't want it. They'll discount it, but won't let the deal slip through if you're adamant. It's almost all profit, and they can't complain if you saved them the trouble of applying it.

I have the unfortunate habit of automatically declining any "offer" of warranty, protection plan etc on anything without even really listening to the offer. Heck they could be offering to install gold bullion bars for weight in my trunk free of charge and i would automatically decline.
