No adaptive cruise control on M240

I was going to place an order for an M240 and asked the dealer about adaptive cruise that I've seen so many reviews reference but not available on the configurator. He confirmed that adaptive cruise was deleted as an option. It's likely due to COVID supply chain/chip shortage issues, but that's just conjecture. He couldn't say wether the option would ever be offered again. The absence of this option is especially frustrating because it seems this adaptive cruise is tied to emergency breaking. It's a bit ridiculous for this to not be offered since it's offered on MUCH cheaper cars. I've seen BMW respond positively to customer complaints and I'm hoping they respond similarly now. I emailed corporate and requested that this option be brought back when able. For those interested in this option, please reach out to BMW and do the same.

elsewhere in this forum, people have reported it shows up as an option on the system the dealership uses to order vehicles.. so it's kind of like a "hidden option"
I would recommend if you're working with the dealer to ask them to check their system for the feature option rather than relying on what's publicly available.

I believe emergency break is standard even without the ACC

Emergency braking and ACC are separate-they don’t use the same sensors. Non ACC 2 series still have emergency braking.

Your dealer is dumb. Active Cruise Control is available. It's not tied to emergency breaking. It has frontal collision mitigation as a default.

No, active driving assistant is standard, Active Cruise Control is a $750 option.

Forward emergency braking is handled by the KAFAS camera in the rear view mirror assembly. Standard on all 2 series (in the US at least).

I appreciate all the information. I called another dealer who also didn't know wether adaptive cruise control was still available. He did inform me that BMW was also deleting adjustable side boosters on the passenger seat of all new builds due to parts shortage. At a time when cars are going for MSRP (and above) this process is frustrating.

I'll keep hounding dealers until I can get someone to give me a definitive answer. I do appreciate learning that emergency breaking is not tied to adaptive cruise!

Does anyone know if pedestrian detection is also standard?

Regarding side bolsters and lumbar support, you can only get them on the driver's seat (passenger seat delete due to chip shortage) if you option the Vernasca leather option currently. The sensatec does not include side bolsters or lumbar for either seat.
