adjusting rear HAS kits yourself?

took my car in for 1 time free height adjustment after my initial install. told them the specs but the shop raised the rear a tad bit more than i liked. rather avoid the hassle of going back and wondering how involved it is to make a small adjustment lower myself.

these are for some ASTheight adjustable springs but assume it’s the same from all brands

I did it once at home. I did something like this. It was super sketchy and took me a good bit of time. But I fixed mine doing it like this. I just used a bunch of socket extensions and a jack to hold the upper perch still while I cranked on the adjuster VERY very slowly since its super hard to get any grip on it with the tool in that tight space. I wont do it again, but Ive done it.

thanks for the detail. i’m decently handy but this seems like a lot. do you have an estimate on how much the car raises and lowers when you move the height adjuster? i’m literally trying to lower .25 of an inch

I raised mine up and it was a bitch getting the wrench to grab the adjuster. I think it took me 3-4 full turns.

Put car on a jack stand. Remove wheel.

Use floor jack and extensions under and in the middle of the spring through the lower control arm hole.

Apply enough jack pressure to hold the socket up against the upper perch mount.

Don’t lift the vechical doing this. Just use enough pressure to hold it still.

Use your coil over wrench to adjust. This part takes forever. Because there is hardly any room to get the wrench on the collar adjustment. But it’s doable. You just got to use what little space you have to adjust and spin it mm at a time.

That or just pay a shop.
