What do the "extended heated seats" feel like?

I've had "restricted" heated seats on a few of my cars, but I see in the Product Information Booklet I downloaded that the ones I ordered on my e90 will be "extended", i.e. the side bolsters are also heated.

Is this a worthwhile addition, can you actually feel the difference?

In the car, the bottom, back and side bosters are all heated... Feels nice and toasty after a few minutes (esp consdering I have the sport seats that really wrap around you on the side). If you order the car with i-drive you are supposed to be able to control the distribution of the heat to each area as apposed to the simple hi, med, low settings on the car without i-drive

They are very nice, esp with leather in the winter around here. By the time and a couple of hundred yards down the street, I'm starting to feel warm (and not only from driving the car)...

espo89, I suppose, you are talking about vent heat distribution & not the heated seat temp. distribution. Beca. in my i-drive there is no option where I can control seat heat distribution.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Your right... My bad. I thought I read that in the product information, but I went back and looked at it was refering to the air distribution and not the seat heat distribution.

The heated seats lessen the blow of not having remote start anymore.
They're great!.

The PIB says they're 10% more powerful than on the e46, though I doubt such a small power increase is noticeable...
