Easy upgrade - Bimmertech amp full DIY

Hey yall!

The anemic HK audio system in our cars desperately needs to be replaced or upgraded. Even if you are building stages or staying with the stock speakers, this amp upgrade makes a huge difference as it will be tuned to your car, your preferences and music types. Working with the audio engineer in a remote session, he will get everything tuned perfectly and improve even the stock speakers.

Side note, I read bimmertech amps are going up $100 on 9/20, so if you have been on the fence, now is the time, at least before the price increase.

Candidly I also recommend the full speaker upgrades, but if you are only going to do one thing, this is definitely it.

I just started researching audio options so this is helpful. Is it really worth $2k vs say the Match up 8DSP for $1k?

I haven't gotten hands on with the Match, so can't make comparisons. The bimmertech amp is now $1799 for most cars, and I can help bring that price down a little.

The other big advantage the bimmertech amp has is the custom tuning session with their audio engineer. Setting up your car for you, speakers and music preferences is a big deal.

It was around $1,000 not too long ago.

If I wanted more clarity in audio performance from the stock HK setup, would the amp be a better step up vs the speakers?

The amp will absolutely help, especially tuned to your car, you, and your music tastes. The full setup is the best of all worlds, but working incrementally with the amp first is a great start.

“1680W max total output, over three times as much output power as the stock amp“

Dayum. If that’s actually true, I may be ordering the amp too from you!

Happy to help though sincerely recommend the full system if you have budget. It's not cheap but worth it.

Yes, because the amp is actually the DSP also, and the stock drive units in the HK system are actually not all that bad. Even if some disagree on that point, changing the speakers without the amp will mean you have filters and EQ for the wrong drivers being applied by the stock amplifier.

Thanks! I’ll look to do this first when I can!
