His C63 weighed 3820, if the new one is 220lbs lighter that makes it 3600lbs which funnily enough if you look at cars that have been weighed on this forum is approx the same weight as M3/4.

The highly optioned EAS weight for the M3 is 38 lbs below 3600, which would be lighter. I haven't been keeping up with other threads but other early weigh ins I saw for manual lightly optioned cars came in a around 3500 iirc.

AMG always makes it a priority for their cars to be fast in a straight line. Since 2012, it appears the mission has been to retain this advantage while improving overall driving dynamics. The M4 turned out to be far faster than I expected. I was really impressed with the abundance of instantaneous, usable torque. The W205 will have its work cut out for it.

Hmm, does anybody see the AMG 507 edition on the MB website? Went to their website with no luck at all.

I said approx same weight, 50lbs heavier or lighter is neither here not there in a car of this weight and power. There is a 135lb difference between an M3 with no fuel and a full tank. Fat driver vs skinny driver- small margins. If the Benz reduces it's weight to within even 100lbs of the M3 it will be a monster with that extra power and torque.

That is BMW's fault, they know c63,RS5 and the M3 are three choices in the premium coupe segments. Yet they decided that the new m3 will be TTI6 giving that Merced said the new C will be V8T and pushing close to 500!!!

No it was not aggresive in any way. Chill boy hehehe. English may be my third language which could be a reason for misunderstanding, yet I did not find it aggresive. Your review was indeed excellent, yet your C 63 compared so well to the M4, and with all the recent comparos, I am getting the impression I am about to do a stupid deal leaving the 63. I think I am gonna take a step further and jump to a M6 GC, as the price difference is pretty small if compared to the M4 here (M4 $230,000, M6 GC 260,000, C63 $180,000).

I might agree with this if I bought cars only for the power the engine generated. I buy cars for the ENTIRE car and, IMO, there is a history of BMW doing that well and that is no different in the F8x. Transmission, brakes, chassis, suspension, steering and engine all matter.

Am I the only one who thinks that the C63 looks absolutely terrible? I mean for starters it's 10" wheels are way, way too tiny for the car and those tacked on hood vents look incredibly out of place. The headlamps look atrocious and it has the hips of a malnourished rice farmer. I mean honestly WTF was Mercedes thinking when they designed this monstrosity? If had the money for an M4 the only other cars I'd consider would be the F-Type, Stingray and the lovely Cayman S.

I don't believe that is AY. I think your pic is one of the pictures from the M4 reveal at Pebble Beach. I believe that car is painted in Aurum Dust? I may not have the right name but I am pretty sure it's not Austin.

It is Aurum Dust, but I was under the impression that Austin Yellow is just the name for the production version of Aurum Dust. |
