Think I may have sourced a more OEM looking típ, which is 3.5” long, and 3.25” diameter at the “show” end.

Question: As the Dinan tips are 3” diameter at the “show” end, would this 1/4” extra on the diameter inhibit two tips from sitting next to each other—how much space is there between the tips when installed onto the exhaust?
Dinan tips are 4" diameter so going down to 3.25" inch should cause no issues. Will have a fair amount of real estate between the tips and around the cutout but they would fit just fine.

Thanks for the (ever helpful) info. Unfortunately I made a typo—the tips I've sourced are 4.25" at the "show end". So my original question—would two of these fit side-by-side? Thanks so much.

Ahh larger. 4.25" tips would likely contact one another side by side. Current 4" tips have roughly a 3/16" gap between tips (+/- 1/16).

Since this exhaust is adding a valve - would i need a valve controller with dual valve control? or will a single still work

You would need a dual valve controller with the Dinan exhaust equipped.

Can you install the Dinan tips upside down, to have the text facing the ground? Not a big fan of the excessively large font

Lettering wraps around though so would still be visible on the sides

Oops, I just ordered the SST EXHAUST FLAP CONTROL from mike@x-ph.com. Seems like they only offer a single valve controller. Can you confirm if this would work since the 2nd valve piggy-backs off of the stock connection? If not, might have to cancel my order

Depending on which model you selected, SST comes with one or 2 valve controller. Our most popular one is the G8x M3 M4 controller and it comes with 2.

Are you noticing any drone with the stock down pipe?

Keep in mind this is only a day old. Needs to be broken in.
Lots of burbles in Sport+.
Comfort mode is still decent loud something like stock in Sport+ with power.
In Sport+ its pretty loud but not offensive. Not as loud as my Lambo SuperTrofeo
There is a little in cabin drone between 2k-2.6k RPM but not highly offensive in Comfort mode. I dont hear it much in Sport+ but could be just exhaust is louder. stock DP.

I need a better drive by video.

https://youtube.com/shorts/6BeRRKxLXfU?feature=share

Id give it 2-3 week and Ill report some more videos.
Love the exhaust. Sounds like a proper BMW sporty car now.
I am happy with it as my daily driver/ winter fun car.
Great job Dinan!!! Love it.

Anyone have any updates on switching out the exhaust tips? I’m finding all of the aftermarket ones are a dual to quad conversion not quad to quad. Pics would be appreciated too, please

Hey, I live close to you and would really like to hear the Dinan before I purchase for wife. Was going to get mpe but she wants something louder. BHR acts like they installed yours which is who we were going to use. I would like to talk to you about them also. Thanks…Kent
