That's a great deal, in my opinion.
You can get it cheaper from other sources, but then you must pay a couple of hundred dollars for the installation.

It's a fairly easy install if you have a few basic tools and a jack. Lots of install videos to learn from. I'd also recommend getting a weld to avoid leaks and obnoxious noise after 1K miles or so to make sure you don't get a code.

Is there any chance one of you can link the DP in this photo. After the research I’ve done and the shops I’ve talked to everything/one says there’s no exact fit for the G42 yet

May I ask what you mean by "a weld" to avoid leaks? Are you recommending additional welds?

In my case the DP did not extend all the way past the expansion slot inside the female pipe, so there was a small hole that would create a burble sound, which was very noticeable on cold starts. The weld covered the hole and can easily be ground off if needed. It was also done by a shop I’ve used for over 20 years and known for quality work on high end cars, so they knew exactly what to do and not do. The weld does not go completely around the pipe, and a rubber hose between his ear and pipe was used to confirm all leaks were sealed. No harm in going without the weld, other a little noise and smell I wasn’t fond of. |

I can confirm mine does not have a leak. My DP extended past the slot in the OEM midpipe/exhaust ~1/8”. I did use a pipe expander to incrementally widen the midpipe just enough so it could slide in all the way, but not too much to cause a bigger than needed gap. I also loosened the v-band clamp at the turbo and let the DP settle in how it wanted to with the bracket bolts loosely in place and attached all the way into the midpipe. This allowed the DP to slide in deeper into the midpipe. Originally when I tightened the v-band clamp first, the DP wouldnt slide all the way into the mid-pipe since it was a bit misaligned and fighting to get in there.

The guys I use that do exhaust work for a living tells me clamps will almost always leak. Unicorns do exist, I suppose. |

And yes there is no leak. And I also believe others who say they have no leaks because I have no reason to not believe them. Good for your exhaust guys but I also know what I’m doing and there is no leak. Doesn’t mean it’s a unicorn. Perhaps yours is the unicorn because it was leaking but I guess that couldn’t ever be the case, right? You add great info to these forums but the way you come across insinuating that because you had an issue that every one has said issue, and if they don’t you say they are wrong is just very annoying. Not a good look. |

A simple Google search: "do exhaust clamps often leak" will document this very well. And I still think you've got a leak. |

Has anyone tried the MST downpipe?
Not sure if it’s just the audio in the videos I watched, but the AA dp sounds a bit too raspy for me. Just saw a demo of the MST dp and it sounds a bit closer to stock sounding without the raspy/rattley sound. Can anyone with AA chime in on the sound, particularly during cold start? |

Cold starts are very raspy even with the exhaust valve closed. It sounds quite unrefined.
