Quick look at fitment with 19x11 with 305/30/19 goodyear 3r with -3.3 camber and 12.5mm spacer. Looking really tight. Have about 3mm between tire and strut.

Stock strut with eibach lower springs and millway camber plates

Anytime you're creating a square rotatable fitment, you can either optimize the width and offset for the front (generally a lower offset) or for the rear (typically higher offset). I prefer offering a higher offset option for a few reasons.

Spacers are nice because different customers can run different thicknesses depending on how much clearance their car needs. -The front of the car is generally where it is easier/more beneficial for the car to run additional camber. This is often required with various fitments and adjustability means that it can adapt to different tire configurations more easily.

-The rear of the car has less camber adjustment options that also benefit performance. The eccentric bolts aren't consistent car to car in terms of what you can get and rear camber isn't as beneficial for these cars as front camber is for the track. The alternative to dialing in rear camber to tuck a tire is rolling and pulling your rear fenders for clearance, but this mod isn't reversible and is a drastic step most owners don't want to deal with. I prefer a fitment that may need spacers up front but lets you pull the parts off at the end of the day and go back to stock if you choose to do so.

Tom, thank you for the detailed and comprehensive response (most helpful). I intend to install the M4 CSL carrier for additional camber. This would push the wheel inward compared to the entire strut assembly shifting inward with the wheel. That said, the front would have limited clearance once the hub is installed on the vehicle.

Would you have recommendations for perhaps a factory spec M4 CSL/M3CS (G8X) which has less front strut clearance? The 10.5 'may' be excessive with the OEM suspension from what I am gathering.

Not one that we've been able to bring into the office and scan which is what I need to be precise with a recommendation. I know I have a G82 M4 CSL running 19x10.5 ET18 square with 295/30-19 Hoosier R7s, but I don't know what spacers the shop that got the wheels, camber plates, and modified fender liners installed ended up using. I'll reach out to them and follow up If I can get feedback on the spacer they used, but here are some shots of that car on the 19x10.5 ET18s square.

Here they are dusted after 2.5 hours on track…MP HAS factory installed height. First track day ever and no less than 4 people came over during the day to see the wheels which surprised me a bit being in New England, but they are clearly known. 2 GT3s were also running Apex.

Hi Tom, thank you for such a informative thread!

I am looking at the Apex G87 fitment guide and one recommended 19' staggered setup is:

Front Tire Size: 275/35-19
Rear Tire Size: 285/35-19

By doing this, the rear tires will be 7cm taller than the front ones. Would there be problems? Would I need spacer & camber if I go with this setup? Thanks!

No issues with the front/rear heights.

The wheel fitment those tires are recommended for is our 19x9.5 ET25 front/19x10.5 ET18 rear. I do recommend a 5mm spacer with those wheels if you want to match the factory front wheel fitment (factory wheel is 19x9.5 ET20). The spacers aren't required for brake clearance and most 275/35-19 tires would clear the suspension still without front spacers, but just to maintain the factory look of the front fitment 5mm spacers are recommended.

You can certainly reuse the OE tire sizes on those wheels. The weight comparison is a bit apples to oranges but:

OE 930M wheels: Reports are varying from what I can see on the specific wheel weights for these, so a bit of a grain of salt here but:

Front: 19x9.5 ET20, 27.5 lbs
Rear: 20x10.5 ET20, 31 lbs

Apex SM-10RS: Brushed Clear weights are what we list, add .2 - .3 of a lb in paint weight for other colors.

Front: 19x10 ET12, 20.2 lbs
Rear: 20x11 ET18, 21 lbs

The switch should net you ~ 34.6 lbs of weight reduction with brushed clear. Maybe 33.4 with other colors. You'll also gain a half-inch front and rear in wheel width which you can use later to run wider tires than the OE tires.

The wider tires will be slightly heavier depending on the specifics but will pay dividends in terms of performance.

Got my 18x10.5 18" Vs-5RS wheels installed today! They look fantastic, thanks Apex!

Mounted Nitto NT01 305/35R18 square. 5mm spacer up front, stock camber, seems to fit fine though only about 3mm between tire and strut tube. Can't wait to try this out on the track!

I’ll be testing this exact front axle setup next week with the MP HAS at the default 10mm drop ride height. Will update everyone on how it goes.

I don’t have any actual data, but I read somewhere that the GY SC3s were a tad wider. I do get rubbing on the fender liner vents with lots of steering input. Not sure if the PS4S get the same.

I can get some actual info when I take the wheels off to clean them.

SIDE-MILLED SPOKES - The ML-10RT incorporates Apex’s extra-deep, side-milled spokes. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out using a precision CNC ball cutter. Often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, this aggressive side-milling shaves critical weight, and adds a sharp contrast in the design of the center spoke area.

SPRINT INNER LIP - The ML-10RT borrows the race-proven Sprint Spec inner lip from our Sprint Line wheels, providing critical strength to the unsupported inner lip of the wheel. 10K TONS OF PRESSURE - To make our forged wheels the strongest we can, we applied as much pressure as possible using a 10,000 ton forge. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure.



TRUE MOTORSPORT BLANKS - Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. We designed our very own blank profiles from scratch to give us total control over the final product.

INDEPENDENTLY TESTED - We don't rely solely on computer simulations or unverifiable in-house testing. We believe independent testing is critical to protect consumers in this unregulated industry. Ah fair point. Got it thanks. Have the vs5 in 11 on both m2 and Supra. Love the look so this would be a good add

Possibly, we're still evaluating producing 20s in general. I had wanted to launch with this wheel, but it wasn't possible on the faster timeline. For now it's just the 19s.
