Trying to figure out how to reset the oil change reminder. it's incredibly intrusive. of course I changed the oil more often than the car wants me to.

So I've got the car going into diagnostic mode and I've been able to page through the service reminders using the BC button but it always goes away before I can change anything I seem to be doing something wrong in terms of waiting too long or not waiting long enough.

Any ideas or tips ?

Just did it yesterday. A few outdated videos and instructions no longer work. This is what works, from the X7 forums:

1. Click on the stop/start button 3x to go into diagnostics mode.
2. Press and hold BC button for about 15 seconds, holding any longer will bring you into the MAIN MENU of the diagnostics mode, which you do not want (you will need to start over).
3. When you see “ Engine Oil, reset possible” on your screen
4. Press and oil BC button for about 2-3 seconds, any longer will exit the menu.
5. you see “ Engine Oil, reset ?” on your screen
6. Press and oil BC button for about 2-3 seconds, any longer will exit the menu.
you see “ Engine Oil, resetting” on your screen

I changed the oil at 5k miles, and the service minder said I still had another 7k miles to go. Nope!
