Center console and cup holder lighting DIY

All right yall, I wanted to share my latest DIY, and very cool interior lighting project. This kit looks fantastic and adds integrated lighting to the center console that should have been included already. This applies for G42 and G87 automatics only, and adds color correct LED lighting to the trim and cup holders.

The kit is from Infinite Autowerks and is an easy install.

Is there a reason other than maybe less manuals that prevents them from investing in making a manual kit? Would love this.

I tested the kit for them in my manual, and there is just no way to make it fir. They are considering a manual kit, but can't say yes or no, and likely no.

They should offer a ready to install lighted cupholder as an option. It would save time and anxiety.

Disappointed. I thought the lights were going to run up the side of the shifter along the edge of the new carbon knee peices. Not just in the cup holders that will be closed (for me ) 99% of the time

This is super cool! Question, so I have the piano black trim in mine but I'd absolutely wanna replace it with the carbon trims they have but my center console would have to be matched. Know any 1:1 matching console trims?

Also bummer that they sell a $350 ENET cable on there just to activate the lights lol. I have a $50 Bluetooth OBD and I can imagine I'd be able to code anything they can

You might be looking at total cost. The ENET cable is $20. It’s a small bug on the website but when you click add on for enet cable it’s displays the total cost with enet add on. If you add to cart you will see the total is the $350 for enet cable and the console oem lights with carbon

It would be nice if you had an exchange program whereby a customer could send in their cup holder for a retrofit. Many people don’t feel comfortable doing it themselves.

What do you think a reasonable price for this service would be? We are open to it.

I wish I could answer this but I have never run a business. I am sure others will chip in with a response.

Having purchased this exact item and fiddling with removing the outer plastic shell and cup holder spring assembly…. why not offer a drop in replacement for the cup holder with the OEM outer shell and the cup holder lighting already assembled. I would have paid an extra $75-100 to save myself the hour of time it took me to go slow and make sure I didn’t break any of the plastic clips etc…

You guys have great customer service though and helped me through it.

Was mainly looking for your opinion as a consumer. Leave it to us to determine what we need to do on our end as the business. Consumers drive our decisions

You could sell a drop in replacement, which as stated above, would be worth $75 to $100 avoiding the time and trouble to have a customer install one. Also, you can credit a customer who sends you the OEM cupholder. By so during you might save your company some money.

I bought this one off AliExpress:
I will hopefully get around to installing it this week and will post pics when I do.

What he posted and what you posted a video of are two different solutions.
