Pretty much made my mind up on Edelweiss Wheels. Specifically the LT’3 model (LT5 for comparison, is in picture 3 in quicksilver up front and the close-up with nameplate). But I cannot completely make my mind up on the color variant. Looking for commentary on each of the finishes to help inform my decision, not necessarily make it.
Set out for gold, think I'm leaning Frozen silver or quicksilver… but part of me wants to jump for Champagne (slight up charge and longer wait). Frozen black is also always a strong choice (also happens to be on hand and cheapest). I also love the brand and think their are awesome people so why not give them some free publicity 😜 |

Quicksilver or Champagne for me with Portimao. Definitely not black of any description.
I saw the Edelweiss wheels on a G87 M2 on the other section of this forum and thought they looked superb. Are they now making them in sizes that suit the G42? Great choice! |

They will require a 12mm spacer. So not totally specific for the G42, unfortunately. |

If you don't want spacers, take a look at Bola FP2s, which are almost identical, but are custom made, so any PCD, size, offset, bore, finish etc. They are also full forged as opposed to Edelweiss's flow form so are a tiny bit stronger and lighter for a similar price (excluding shipping).
Not sure if they are TUV certified, which I believe is important in Germany? |

I would say that silver (Quicksilver) actually pop pretty good with Portimao. I didn't take any pictures, but I picked up some cheap BMW knockoff wheels for winter in hyper silver. I honestly thought I was going to hate them, but the silver actually looks quite sharp against PB.
As for Champagne, I do like bronze/gold with a blue like ours, but we don't drive a Subaru rally car. It might not be the best pick simply because it's not the right car for the combo, in my opinion, even though it looks great. Just my 2c. |

I would think that the Quicksilver against the blue would look as a good contrast and stand out well without being too 'in your face', but for me it would be a difficult choice between the LT3 & LT5, both look superb but think your choice of the LT3 just pips it though.

I too was deadset on the Edelweiss wheels and was in touch with the guys on Instagram. However, they did not offer wheels for the G42 in 19in size, and their offset were not aggressive enough for me. So i did some digging around and came up with some other sources that make the same profile, and can make them at any size or offset you desire. https://www.vtforged.com/store/p46/V...k-Wheel.html#/ |

So i reached out to them worrying that they did not offer much customization. However i was dead wrong. They said they can basically do whatever you like to them. I plan on doing this change: They also offer spoke hollowing, tho they said I would the first if i went forward with it. It looks something like this : I did not end up deciding on the finish or the design yet. It's very tricky trying to figure out what is the most aggressive offset i can do, without causing rubbing OR causing brake clearance issues. However i think im split between either the GSL (Edelweiss knockoff) or SL-A design they offer. The M2 G87 guys are all over these wheels btw https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2061650 |

Having custom made wheels gives you so much more choice - the exact offset and finish you want and the ability to specify OEM bore so you can use your BMW centre caps if you don't want you wheels to look obviously aftermarket.
There is a thread over on the G87 section with lots of pictures of VTForged. They look great. |

You can ask the fabricator to reduce the offset by the spacer depth |
