No Touch Screen for late 2021 builds?!?
Was looking at the configurator on the BMW site for the M240i and noticed in the description for the Live Cockpit Pro that it stated...
"The multi-input iDrive 7.0 system delivers ultimate versatility via voice commands or the iDrive touchpad Controller. Some vehicles may be equipped with touchscreen; however, some vehicles built in late 2021 may not be equipped with touchscreen." Wondering if anyone has actually received one without the touchscreen??? |

We had an X5m50 come in and the customer had to sign a release saying that the $107k car he is buying does not and can never in the gunfire ever have a touch screen

Oh wow, not sure how I'd feel about that. Hoping that's not the case with mine. Not sure that'd be a deal breaker either tho.

So far, not on a 2 series. All still have touchscreens
Tell me about it!? lol I had to get a x5 custoMer and a $100k x7 customer to sign it. What's even worse is that I had to sell a m440i without power seats $62k car with manual seats smh |

Walk where? Go to another manufacturer, wait 2-6 more months to get a car, only to have that one come in with its own chip-shortage-induced feature modifications?
Consumers have remarkably little leverage these days. Most dealers have literally nothing on their lots and every carmaker is cutting things to adjust to supply issues. I was fortunate that I owned my old 230i outright, but if you're on a lease that's ending or just need a car you have almost no leverage. |

Jpcoop is right. I haven't had a signal customer walk over something like this. Plus they got a cost reduction for it, I just tell the client due to the chip shortage bmw has reverted back to just the idrive controller on this model.

I understand the market, and some of those issues wouldn't bother me, but there are things I'd draw the line on. I assume most are coming out of existing leases, buying out your lease car is always an option if you didn't want your new car.
