I like the tail light design, I love the whole car.

Of course, it's my car and maybe I'm just loving them because of that.

Added a photo where the rear looks absolutely fabulous IMO.

Never had a problem with them. Before I ordered, some people complained that the car's rear end was ugly as the rest of the BMW line, but I couldn't agree. I thought it look aggressive and sleek.

I still do.

I'd like to see what you think about this rear design observation:

I think the OEM tailights are wrong.

Blackline's are much more intergrated, even though I still think it needs a re-design.

The first time I saw it, the leaked brochure, I was kinda disgusted by the look. It looks like a big blob of red thing.. like the Alero. But then I saw some more official photos, they were much better. Then when I finally get to see a real one, they look great. Now that I own one, it's actually quite good. This morning a E46 was parked beside my E90. I compared the back. I actually like them both more or less equally.

I also happened to park right next to an identical colored face-lifted E46 ZSP 330i and I have to say, walking back towards my car after getting take-outs the rear of the E90 "popped" a lot more immediately grabbing attention, the design was also more chic. While the E46's rear was more subtle, inoffensive with quiet classic charm, there was no question that though the E46's rear looked good, but it was indeed starting to become dated.

What I dont like about the E90 tail lights is that they are too big. If your car is a brighter color, like silver or white, it's ok. But for darker colors, those giant slabs of red completly dominate the rear end of the car. Installing the black lines help, but that makes the Japanese looking BMW look even more Japanese.... My only real solution is, appart from waiting for BMW to redesign the rear end, never look at the back of the car...

This is what I have said and thought since the car debuted here in the States in April. A very $$$ Civic...but just from the rear. The front and side view of our E90s are hot, hot, hot!

I must admit that I didn't like them at first, now I love them, they give the car a unique look and there can be no mistaking that it is a BMW, and that it is a 3.

ha ha, that's what my Mom said when she first saw them - and she doesn't really know too much about BMW's. I think the standard E90 taillights look great though. I don't like the blackline taillights - to me, they look dirty and cheap.

11 years (since my E36 totalled under speed of 60 km/h) I almost paused on even reading any 3-series articles. E46 is a great looking car, great looking taillight , to me, its look is just the same as the E36.

E90 is a completely different looking car than the E36/E46.
The most noticable , is its look like a shrink 5-series but with every other details way over the 5-series.

The first time when I took a close look of the E90, I was soooo surprised to learn that the curves at side actually align with the edges of the taillights. This is an amazing design and the taillight look just great.

Believe, if there were one single thing of the E90 look which I did not like about, I would not have bought this car as I never admire BMW look more than I do to Benz.

I don't really like the blackline tails; not that they look bad, but it gives a modify car look to the car. I ordered a pair of European tail lights from German, and they should arrive in about 2 weeks. I want the amber turns.

I like the stock look of the lights and bulbs. I do like the 'lined' look when you have your lights on. I believe this was borrowed from the previous gen 5 series...

I like looking at lights (headlights and tails) at night and trying to guess the cars. I am pretty good at it too... The look at night of just the lights on (no brake lights) is very similar to the E46.

What I really would have loved to see was the integration of the LED lights found on the E46 coupe. Just a simple red/white combo that the white lights illuminated orange. I dont like orange lights at all on cars, and that was one thing about the E46 sedan that really got to me. Orange all over the place...

I probably WONT go for the Euro tails because it still shows some orange coming through the lights. I want it red/white look (much cleaner) with an orange illuminating turn signal.
