Help: Injen vs aFe vs BMW Performance Intake on N51

Hello everyone!
I am in the market to buy an intake.
First choice, Injen short ram, aFe Stage 2, and then BMW Performance Intake (because of price).

I understand prices are different, I understand fitment is different, and I understand gains are different. I was wondering if anyone saw a big difference between the 3? Also if anyone has any input about the fitment, I know BMW is basically fits perfect.

Performance wise, I heard mixed for aFe that it decreased and Injen does actually increase. Let me know guys!

Thanks in advance!

best thing is to find used PI, since lots of guys are getting ESS supercharger, those will flow around soon.

i think peak performance wise, PI not the top for sure (still a closed intake), but should be best overall.

thanks for your input. but do you know why that is? BMW claims the PI only as 25-28% better airflow/gains at 6600rpms which isnt much

True. There is a thread for that. But seeing that you are in MD makes it easier.
Hows the fitment, condition, performance, sound, filter, price? There is a lot of factors before making any automotive purchase.

cuz they are the car maker, aftermarket dont have all those rule and regulation to deal with. they can open up the intake as much as they want.

but i think PI is all you ever gonna need for street, real bottle neck is at the exhaust/cat.

my stock dyno rated at 207ish with PI , so 4-5hp above a complete stock 328i manual.

yes, PI does alter the sound a bit, performance wise feels more then PE does.

a bit more mid range and rev a bit quick, nothing at top end.

really cant feel any from PE except sound.

ya looking for sound, better throttle response and all.

I've had both the PI and the Injen intake. I felt extremely little difference in performance with both, whether it was a gain or loss. Honestly, +- 5 horsepower won't make a difference at all.

With that said, I sold the PI within a month and bought the Injen and stuck with it. Since there was little performance gain, I just went with the best sounding one, which in this case was the Injen. It sounds amazing above 3k rpms paired along with my PE with secondary cat delete
