Can't decide Matte, satin, or gloss!!
Ok here's the deal, I have a sapphire graphite metallic e92 335i with 19"
M3 rep rims (220's). Now the plan is to black everything out (window trim, Rims, grill, and maybe exhaust tips too haven't decided.) Here's my dilemma. I dunno if I should just plasti dip everything matte maybe add a glossifier for A nice Satin like finish. I think that would be a nice compromise and quite economical to do. But then I see pictures of full gloss, and I think damn that Looks so sick!! I hear it's a lot easier to up keep, as it doesn't look dirty all the time. I realize if I want full gloss I would have to paint or powdercoat, and for the trim I would have to vinyl, obviously costing more. I'm kinda ruling matte out, while the contrast is nice on the glossy paint, I find it looks too faded, almost dark brown after awhile. Any opinions or past experiences would be greatly appreciated! Cheers. |

I've got a Black Sapphire Metallic M-Sport E92 with Black Chrome IS grills and 193M wheels, I dipped the wheels matte black with the intent of using the glossifier but once I finished I decided against it cause it looks amazing matte.. all of my trim are blacklines with pretty dark tinted windows.
BTW: I was also done with the "matte black" look. |

I have E92 M-Sport in sapphire black. Plasti dipped the wheels and kidney grills without glossifier and it looks awesome. You can always add the glossifier later if you decide you don't like the matte look

I think matte looks great especially on the grill and wheels. I have attached some pics so you can see how it looks. Even though my car is black it will give you a good idea on how te matte looks. I like it better than gloss but it does get dirty quickly but not too hard to clean

Those look nice. You're tempting me to go back to black wheels!
