New Gloss Black Grilles

Fitted today, really pleased with the overall look, just need to get the bonnet/bumper shut lines a bit better... Cheers Spugnut/Dan for supplying.

Garage List
Looks stunning - what a great colour your car is! Shut lines look pretty normal to me. Good luck with adjusting them!

Cheers Phil, face on they are ok, but from the top I would just like them a little bit closer if you know what I mean, the black grilles just seem to show up the gap a bit more than the chrome...

Spent a couple of hours making some shims just to raise it up, pic is with 2mm but I made 4mm first and the bonnet would not close... so going to make some at 3mm...

From no shims to the 2mm made a massive difference to the look, so think the 3's will be spot on...

Great colour! To be honest I thought the same about the shut lines on mine but then every E92 I see seems to have the same size gap!

Cheers MXD, problem is now I think I need to brighten up the lower grilles so they match up - never ends once you start!!!

And the rear diffuser will also need to be sorted.... do I just spray the original or go with a performance one in gloss....

Thank you Dan, every time I open the garage I get the same feeling...

If you look at the two pics, first is how it was and always bugged me and when I fitted the black ones it seemed to open up more and looked nasty, the second pic is with 3mm shims under the left and right torx bolts and 4mm under the two centre bolts at top of bumper.. I just cut and drilled some plastic packers in the end, has made a massive difference to how it looks...

Yes mate, them four.. I used plastic window fitting packers cut up but if you have some m5/m6 washers I would do 2 on left and right and try 3 on the middle one's.. see how it looks.. I would also mark and take pics of where the bolts sit in relation to the hole cut outs on the bumper as I had a bit of trouble getting the faces right between bumper and bonnet if you know what I mean... would have saved a bit of time.....

Looking at that pic, I would go 3mm left 4mm both centres and only 1mm on the right, see how that sits - you are not far off with what you have done tho...

Performance diffuser in gloss black would look awesome! I have the same on mine (albeit my car is silver!).
