So I put my BMS intake on last night all by myself.
It was not the easiest of tasks for somebody that's never poked around under the hood, but I managed to do it - and do it quite well. As expected, I dropped one of the damn machine bolts/ washers/ threaded speed nuts into the engine bay with my shaky drunk hands. I ended up buying a whole bunch of stuff from Lowe's I didn't need- pretty much anything but what I needed as a matter of fact. I do believe I got the right bolts but of course it's silver and I'm really not concerned about that because the black cover goes right over it and the cabin filter housing goes on top of all of that. I guess the moral of the story is - just go to the damn dealer and ask for the nuts bolts washers you need, or take them off the car in the parking lot and go into parts and ask for them. I learned damn near everything out of an automotive is metric, and it was nearly impossible to find the correct size threaded speed nut that I needed, which kind of sucks because that was all that was stopping me from using the silver M5 metric automotive bolt that I bought that could have anchored the other side of the black piece that goes under the cabin filter. Meh. Yes I know pointless thread, and CSB, but I figured I'd share my victory and small defeats with everyone else. Some points to take away: -always use a magnetized set of tools -put all of your nuts and bolts in the same damn place -don't drop shit into the engine bay |

Oh I have plenty of mods bro but this was one of the first ones I did myself.
Sucks that I have to go to Morristown BMW a few miles away Saturday to pick up a lousy threaded speed nut, machine bolt, and washer, but I just can't really deal with the fact that there is a screw missing on the other side even though it's probably of no consequence ha ha |

Oh God dude I wish they made one for the N55 but alas, they do not, so I went with BMS.
I actually had one before, then took it off and sold it, then missed it so I have one again ha ha |
