My Key fob falls out of the dash slot

The spring loaded door appears to be fine, but when I push the key fob into the slot, the car activates, but the key is loose, and sometimes just falls out onto the floor when I accelerate.

Do I have to replace the fob case or the dash slot?

Can anyone direct me to a DIY tutorial on this. I've searched but have not found anything other than related issues,...not the exact problem I have.

Damn thats random, does the car stay on without the key in? DO you have to insert the key to start or is it comfort access?

Nobody likes a loose hole where your "key" falls out. Sounds like your car got around

Sorry to thread jack, but let's say your key normally doesn't fall out, it doesn't come out unless the car is in park and you push it, plus yanking it won't make it come out and it doesn't seem to want to fall out, and I'm 100% sure my car doesn't have CA...

But earlier today, despite being tired as hell, I did some interior detailing since it just dawned on me that I haven't given the leather Lexol in 2-3 months , so I lean in from the passenger's side to turn the car to "on" to drown out Minaj playing on the other side of the apartment and charge my phone at the same time.

Then about 20 minutes later, my car is nice and clean, let's straighten out my parking and shut 'er off. Not only does it NOT turn off even after hitting the button a few times both with and without the brakes, I notice the key on the floor. WTF?
