BK57 CWU - Modded 325D Coupe - Stay Well Away
Michael Hebden from Swansea selling a Grey 325d coupe plate number Bk57 CWU
3k outstanding finance which he didn't declare in two days talking prior to me making arrangements to make a 5hr train journey to see and potentially buy the car. Hpi check came up with outstanding finance and he claims it will be paid off after sale (it doesn't work like that car isn't his to sell till finance paid off) Out of pocket on train tickets but whatever, don't want anyone else to get themselves in a pickle!

Just the usual checks mate. Check for any history documents, MOT advisories etc etc. Full HPI check is needed if you're def interested. Check for how the car pulls in each gear and listen out for any noises etc.

Whining from serpentine belt tensioners / idlers
Oil dripping down rhs engine onto underbody protection (although swirl flap removal and replacement with good blanks should prevent this) Any errors showing up in INPA (if you get the chance to plug in a laptop) will provide additional confidence.

I agree with thermostats. Take it for a run and ensure it gets up to temperatures of around 90 - 92 degrees within 15 to 20 minutes

He said they may have been then double checked with paperwork and said it was actually checked
Either way, hpi checked an hour ago before I made the journey from leeds to Swansea tommorow and thankfully I didn't skimp out and go for the cheap check... Car has 3k outstanding finance which he didn't bother declaring to me and says he will pay off after the sale of the car (aka the car is currently not his to sell) Very peed off right now If anyone's seen a grey 325d in Swansea for sale plate ending in CWU.. stay away and don't get tempted!! |

You may wish to put this on his facebook advert.
If a guy is not sure about blanking plate, forgets the outstanding finance on his car.... I will not get near that car.

I would also be a bit concerened about it being mapped with 128k on the clock, if that car has not been totally looked after, at that mileage thats going to put alot of stress on the turbo and other parts

Such a shame, it's been used in shows, seemed a very genuine guy, knew his stuff overall and has a motorsport engineering degree but goes to show don't trust anyone
I plan on putting it out there for sure |

Named and shamed him on Bimmerboys Fb page where it was initially advertised and may potentially report it on pistonheads |

Whats wrong with it still having finance? You pay him the price -£3k and the rest to the finance company there and then.
However, he should have told you! |

i guess what makes this one a bit dodgy is that the guy was going to "pay off the finance after he got paid for the car"
instead of as suggested above, the buyer paying the finance company directly, and then paying the balance to the seller. |

If he'd told me tthat's what I would have suggested il lay the finance off and il take the amount of the cost of the car but he wanted full asking price and to pay it off himself
Plus if someone's hides that from you what else could they be hiding ... |
